I'm not even sure how I can put into words the enormous role Chris played in my life. I got in contact with Chris when I was at one of the lowest points in my life. 2 babies born one after the other during the pandemic meant I was on the verge of postpartum depression and my 30 kilos weight gain meant that I just wanted to give up on everything . It should have been the happiest time in my life but I felt sick at the sight of myself , I felt embarrassed to be in pictures with my newborns, I even convinced myself people were taking pictures of me then laughing at me. I called Chris and I was genuinely scared and convinced he wouldn't be able to help me .. maybe I was too big? Maybe I couldn't work as hard as he wanted me to ? Maybe I was a lost cause and he didn't even want to bother trying to get me into shape 😔
One day I picked up the phone , overcame my anxiety and told myself what's the worst that can happen ?... and so I dialled his number . It was the best thing i ever did and Chris immediately made me feel at ease. He asked me why I wanted this so badly and all I could say was "I just want to feel like me again " . I wasn't even sure what that looked like , but I knew almost straight away I was taking a step in the right direction with Chris by my side .
Training wasn't easy and I'm not going to pretend it was . Chris is firm but fair he gave me a strict eating plan , and he made sure he took the time to see what exercises worked for me. He continually checked in on me , and pushed me put of my comfort zone every week.There are times I wanted to scream at him but I was reminded time and time again TRUST THE PROCESS. I found a genuine friend in Chris, he cared for my body as if it was his own and he wanted this for me just as much as i did .
As the months went by I became more and more comfortable with the exercises and Chris always made our sessions so much fun , we had a laugh.. this wasn't a him and me situation. It was an us situation. Everytime I said I cannot . He said yes you can ! You can and you will ... he is the one person who always believed in me and my ability and sometimes when I couldn't find the strength he found it for me , when I was tired, he kept me going, when I wanted to cry he was there to talk it out with me .
12 months later I am 25kg down and 4 dress sizes down . I can't tell you the pride I feel wearing my clothes again and although Chris will tell you its 100% my hard work . The truth is I couldn't have done anything without him. He's truly my favourite person in the fitness world and he deserves every single bit of respect because he knows exactly what he is doing .
