Kip McGrath Sheffield North

‘19 Certificate of Excellence

At Kip McGrath Sheffield North we focus on English, maths and science tuition. All children, if taught well, can succeed. Kip McGrath's international tuition centres have been providing top quality tutoring for nearly 40 years. We are world leaders in private English and Maths tuition for six to sixteen-year-olds. Our Sheffield North centre's team of fully-qualified, experienced teachers hold enhanced disclosure certificates. The centre is owned and run by former head teacher David Kaye, who has 25 years' experience in education. His dynamic, positive, kind yet firm approach helps him to motivate even the most disillusioned students. Each child is given a free assessment. A special programme is then designed to suit their individual needs. Our tutors receive extensive, ongoing training in the latest interactive and manual resources. All this, combined with one-to-one guidance, enables us to: • Significantly boost children's confidence • Help every child achieve their full potential in the chosen subject To find out more, please call David for an informal chat.

What do you love most about your job?

Teachers go into teaching to help children develop and learn. This doesn't change when you start a business doing tuition. The big plus is that we can make greater use of our professional judgement. The upshot is that we see students who come in without skills or confidence making huge strides in the areas we work on. This gives me a buzz. Even better, the students start to smile and feel good about school.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I was a headteacher. After leaving full time work in schools, I didn't want to become just another supply teacher. I looked around at the various tuition business options. I chose a franchise as I knew there was much to learn about business. When I had a look at the franchises, Kip McGrath stood out as being the most professional and forward thinking by a long way. This is now borne out as they are the biggest tuition business in the UK with over 270 centres. They are alo the most expensive to set up in but well worth the effort.

Why should our clients choose you?

We have an international structure behind us which has been in place for over 40 years. A business doesn't last that long if they are not doing a good job. We are all qualified teachers - most of my team have been headteachers or deputy heads. All are experts in their fields. We all hold enhanced criminal record checks and we are Ofsted registered. Out tuition centres are state of the art.
