How would it feel to finally conquer your bloating? To not have that burning feeling of reflux in your chest? To be able to concentrate, now your brain fog has gone? Hi, I'm Melody, and I am a BANT registered nutritionist. I support people like you to make a real difference to their digestive health through diet and lifestyle. I have been helping people conquer their symptoms and feel healthier since April 2013. I have a passion for nutrition and work with clients to help them achieve their digestive health aims and feel well again by adding evidence-based nutrition and lifestyle habits to their routines. I want to share my enhanced skills with you, motivating and empowering you to take control of your health. I will work with you to design a personalised strategy to support you whilst you reach YOUR personal health objectives. I have a post-graduate diploma in nutritional therapy and practice and I am a BANT and CNHC registered nutritional therapist and a registered nurse. BANT and CNHC registered practitioners are required to have proper practice insurance and to keep their skills and knowledge up to date by ongoing training. I keep my practice current by being a member of the Association of Naturopathic practitioners and The General Naturopathic Council. I have a number of nutritional therapy consultation options available, depending on your preference. If what you really need is just a meal plan, created to your requirements, I have a meal planning option available. Great for getting a 2-week eating plan without committing to nutritional therapy consultations! My practice is run via a secure clinic management system called Practice Better, there is a downloadable client app for your convenience. If we work together, I will ask that you create an account in Practice Better for us to video call and communicate effectively. I have several locations for face to face consultations, these include Shaw in Oldham and Wilmslow in Cheshire. You can book a free 15-minute chat with me on O792791286O. Please feel free to contact me with any further questions and I look forward to meeting you. How important is a healthy diet to someone’s health and wellbeing?

A healthy diet is a fundamental pillar in the health of a person. Many chronic conditions can be reversed using a nutritious diet and simple lifestyle interventions. If you have been feeling less than well recently, you may be surprised how soon you can start to feel better using Nutritional Therapy.

What do you love most about your job?

I love client contact, building a rapport with clients is important to me. Supporting clients allows me to connect, listen and educate clients to the reasons behind their health complaints and offering a clear route to help bring them back to wellness. I love when clients come back tell me how their health has been transformed.

What inspired you to start your own business?

There is a real need to help support and educate people on how to take care of themselves as a whole (holistically). I wanted to provide the tools and knowledge that clients need to keep them set for life.

I suffer from a couple of long term conditions myself, which have been aided by good nutrition, but ultimately mean I will need to leave my nursing career. I have a passion for nutrition and I love working with people so, three years later, I'm enjoying my further qualification and I'm happily running my nutrition practice!

Why should our clients choose you?

I have a wealth of experience and a warm personality. I will draw on my nutrition, nursing and fitness qualifications to support you with your health aims. I use coaching skills to work collaboratively with clients to discover their root problem and help them achieve their best selves. I have a blend of modern medicine (my nursing career) and functional medicine (nutritional therapy) to offer my clients to support their health journey.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

I am very happy to work online with clients. Part of my NT training was conducted by providing online consultations for the clients so I have learnt how to consult both face to face and remotely. Although we are now able to meet face to face, not everybody feels comfortable meeting yet, so online consultations are ongoing.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

Covid-19 meant working completely online. I have a comprehensive knowledge of universal precautions so, if clients would prefer face to face sessions, you can rest assured I will provide a safe environment. All of my consulting venues have adequate space for distancing whilst consulting with clients. Of course if you prefer, online consultations are also available.

Your specialist will be able to advise you on the full range of services available and will be able to help you select the best treatment for your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a specialist today.

Dietitians are the only health professionals regulated and protected by law. Registered Nutritionists can provide evidence-based advice and information about food and healthy eating. Nutritional therapists provide alternative treatment, based on the idea that the body needs 'healing' and 'correcting'.

  • Credentials - Find a specialist that has the credentials to support your personal needs.

  • Experience - Ask how long your Dietitian or Nutritionist has been practising and look up their background.

  • Gimmicks - Check your specialist is not supporting an unsuitable diet brand or supplement.

  • Right fit - Make sure they are upfront in the areas they specialise in and are able to make referrals if your needs are outside their comfort zone.

The minimum requirement for a Dietitian is a degree in Dietetics or a related science degree with a postgraduate diploma or higher degree in Dietetics. Nutritionists should have attended a course which is accredited by the Association for Nutrition (AfN).

Before you choose either a Nutritionist or a Dietitian, you could read testimonials and read reviews on their website. You could also look at their profile page on Bark and read reviews from past customers too.

Absolutely! Whether it's receiving advice on how to tackle food allergies or a bespoke diet plan to help you live healthier, your expert will be able to support you via video call or the telephone. In fact, online nutritionists and dietitians have become increasingly popular, not least because they save you the time (and costs!) of travelling.
