Envision Hypnotherapy & Life Coaching

South Yorkshire

‘21 Certificate of Excellence

Envision Hypnotherapy is run by Gerry McAuley who provides practical, effective hypnotherapy that is always tailored to the individual seeking help. Gerry is a professional who gets results and has helped people overcome a wide range of issues including: anxiety & panic attacks; depression; sleep problems; weight problems; quitting smoking; alcohol and other addictions; fears and phobias; grief, relationship breakdowns; children with problems such as low self-confidence and self-esteem, bullying and exam stress; horse riding confidence and competitive success; Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS); ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome; and improving sports, academic and job performance. When Life Coaching, Gerry focuses on clarifying, motivating, mobilising and supporting someone to take more effective control of their life, to move from existing to living the life they want. Maybe someone is stuck and not sure what they want, or lacks clear goals and plans or lacks the courage to do what is needed. Perhaps they have concerns about job and career choice, relationships, work/life balance; or health and well being. Together we work out where they want to be, when they want to get there and how to get there. Gerry challenges thinking and enables someone to confront things they may not like to acknowledge but need to address. Life coaching is not a soft touch and is not to be entered into lightly. However, even though it can be challenging at times, Gerry's aim is always to make the journey rewarding and life-changing. For both hypnotherapy and life coaching, everything is tailored to meet each person's needs, their unique situation and personality.

What do you love most about your job?

Quite simply I love helping people to change and seeing the very real difference my work makes to someone's life. Often the people who come to see me have been struggling with their problem(s) for far too long and have tried all sorts that have just not worked for them, so it is great to be able to help them to overcome their problem at long last. The solutions I provide can range from; helping people suffering from depression and anxiety, (sometimes to a suicidal degree) to really enjoy life again; helping someone to sleep well for the first time in years; eliminating for someone to no l phobia or weight problem or dependency on alcohol snd other drugs; to go from being also-rans to competition winners. I also find it very satisfying to help children with problems such as lack of confidence, difficulties at school, OCD, nightmares & anxiety, exam stress, bed wetting and nail-biting.

What inspired you to start your own business?

To make a significant difference in people's lives - to help them to think, feel and be better in mind, body and spirit .....to enable someone to realise their potential and to get the life they want.

Why should our clients choose you?

I am very professional and very good at what I do - that's what my clients say, it's not me talking! I am non-judgemental, free of psychobabble and down to earth, pragmatic and focused on getting results. I only take on clients who I know I can help and if their needs are best met elsewhere I will point them in the right direction.

Hypnotherapy FAQs

This will vary according to the level of experience and training that the hypnotherapist holds.

Your professional hypnotherapist will be able to advise you on the full range of therapies available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted hypnotherapist today.

Firstly, you'll have a conversation with your therapist to discuss what you hope to achieve and agree on what methods your therapist will use. Afterwards, the hypnotherapist may lead you into a deeply relaxed state using agreed methods to help you towards your goals. For example, suggesting that you don't want to carry out a certain habit gradually bring you out of the trance.

You are fully in control when under hypnosis and don't have to take on the therapist's suggestions if you don't want to. If necessary, you can bring yourself out of the hypnotic state. Most people expect to be put to sleep or to forget what happened afterwards but the opposite is true. You're fully aware the whole time of what is happening.

This is dependent on both your hypnotherapist and your circumstances. One-off services such as smoking cessation or gastric band hypnotherapy can last around two hours, while a general hypnotherapy session will usually take about an hour.

The duration of therapy will really be dependent on your circumstances and issues. Some people may require a longer-term approach with regular weekly sessions. Your hypnotherapist will let you know how many sessions they feel you might need when you start therapy and will be flexible when it comes to decreasing or extending the number of sessions according to your progress and needs.

There are currently no guidelines in place stipulating the training and qualifications a hypnotherapist must have in order to practice. Industry guidelines recommend that individuals should have completed at least an appropriate diploma or have completed a course that involved a minimum of 450 learning hours, of which 120 hours must have been face-to-face.

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark and Bark can show you reviews from past customers who have used their hypnotherapy services.

Hypnotherapy has repeatedly and consistently helped patients with a whole host of issues. It can help with anxiety, depression, anxiety, PTSD, obesity, addictions, fear of flying, public speaking, stopping smoking, insomnia, weight loss amongst others. When combined with methods such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), valuable healing work can begin as quickly as one or two sessions.

You might be surprised to hear that hypnotherapy can be delivered remotely over the phone, through an online video chat platform, or with pre-recorded sessions sent by email.
