Biomech Sports Therapy
Injury assessment and rehabilitation.
Within your initial assessment, which is required to be completed before all sessions, we will discuss your injury. How you sustained it, where and when, and the interventions you are currently using to manage it. From there I will offer you a brief outline of how the session will be run, letting you know of the procedures and techniques which I will use to help you in the best way possible. If you are happy with those, I will then ask you to sign the consent form.
Treatments could include one or all of the following; joint mobilisations, massage, trigger point work, PNF stretching, muscle pin and stretch and exercise prescription.
Sports / Deep Tissue Massage
The start of the session runs just as the injury assessment, then once you have given your permission, we will go ahead with the massage treatment. I will always say at the start of the session that I will only go as deep as you are comfortable with, there is absolutely no reason for me to go 'elbow first' as other therapists have been known to do. This will only promote more muscle tension, and will be of no benefit to you. The pressures will be built up gradually, with constant communication between the both of us to make sure you are always happy with your treatment.
