I’m currently still in treatment, but from the first phone call I had faith in the program. Monika is extremely patient and honest, she designed a plan for me after explaining all life’s challenges. I can only describe it as life changing. I can see the wood through the trees now and I’m still learning about myself every week. This year for me was about investing in my mental health to live a happy healthy life going forward. I’ve learned how to deal with negative emotions when all other therapy’s tried and failed. I will always be a work in progress but the work is so worth it to feel the way I do now and I think I’m 6 weeks ish in.. the best investment so far.

I recently turned 30 and realised I needed to do something about my health. Lee stood out to me as his classes seemed more challenging than the other trainers. After a consultation with Lee we arranged to do weekly 30 minute HIT sessions to help me with my weight loss. Lee gave me excellent information and nutritional advice as well as realistic and achievable goals from the start. The HIT sessions were challenging but Lee was always very encouraging and supportive throughout the process. After a while I could tell the difference in my fitness aswell as my weight. I have just finished 3 months of training with Lee and have lost 10.5kg of weight, which totally smashed my target. Infact I have lost more and am proud to say I am back at the weight I used to be when I went to uni, which at 30 years old I didn't think was possible. I would strongly recommend Lee as a personal trainer to anyone! And I look forward to working with Lee again next year in the run up to my wedding.

After a bad dislocation, i went to see Jay for a recuperative injury massage. She blended a few types of massage and stretches together to give me the best results and pretty much turned me inside out. Within minutes of her finishing i felt stronger and more flexible. As a result my exercises were better and stronger and i recovered much quicker. The physio had to check with me which shoulder i had dislocated! My only complaint is that two hours just flew by, i could have stayed all day. Felt like a good workout, stretching and a massage all rolled into one. Thank you.

I would highly recommend Peak Physiotherapy for rehabilitation following any injury - I have been plagued by recurrent knee problems as a runner and have struggled to find the right therapist to see for this problem. After suffering with a bad neck and shoulder for years which were also causing me headaches, I had seen Massage Medics advertised so thought I’d give it a go. I had a shoulder and neck deep tissue massage and I am already pleased with the results. Don’t get me wrong the massage was was a little painful which I expected and I ached afterwards but I can already feel the difference my headaches have gone and my shoulder feels much better. I will definitely be back for a 2nd session x

Regain Pain Management has over 16 years experience treating clients with debilitating chronic pain, persistent muscular tightness, long term headaches/migraines, sciatica, lower back pain, and other sporting, occupational and general musculoskeletal disorders and injuries. We take time to listen to our clients so that we get a comprehensive history of previous injuries, traumas, and lifestyle activities that could be contributing to their symptoms. A full postural analysis is then done, and based on all this information, we locate and treat the root cause of the symptoms. Treatments plans will always be discussed with you and could include modalities such as deep tissue massage, Myofascial release, Trigger point therapy, Muscle activation, muscle energy techniques, and gym based exercise rehabilitation. We specialize in treating clients with long term chronic pain, that other practitioners have failed to resolve.
Seeing the look on clients faces when they realise their pain has gone, and having a positive impact on their lives.
It's amazing how little things can make such a huge difference to peoples lives, such as a lady with shoulder pain for the last 4 years who couldn't wash her hair in the shower, she had to bend over the bath and use a jug of water. We got her shoulder moving pain free, and she said the first thing she was going to do was have a long hot shower and give her hair a wash.
It's always been an aim to work for myself, I like being my own boss because I'm answerable only to myself.
And doing something that I love is the cherry on the cake.
Having suffered with chronic back pain for over 5 years, and the stress and frustration I experienced before my issue was finally resolved, I know what clients are going through when they come to see me.
I offer bespoke treatments to my clients because we are all different, and no one treatment fits all.
With over 16 years experience treating clients ranging from professional sports people to office workers, nurses to teachers, and kids to pensioners, I have seen and treated just about every muscular and skeletal problem there is.
I look at the body in a totally different way to most other practitioners, and this helps me to identify the root cause of the problem much quicker. If you are struggling with chronic pain, give me a call. There IS another way.

What types of massages does a Massage Therapist offer?
Swedish massage - This is a gentle type of full body massage that is ideal for people who have a lot of tension, are sensitive touch and are new to massage. It can help to release muscle knots and is a good choice if you want to fully relax during your treatment.
Hot stone massage - Hot stone massage is best for people who have muscle pain and tension or who simply want to relax. The massage therapist uses heated stones in lieu of or in addition to their hands.
Aromatherapy massage - Aromatherapy massages are best for people who want to have an emotional healing component to their massage. Aromatherapy massages combine soft, gentle pressure with the use of essential oils. Essential oils are diluted before being applied to the skin.
Deep tissue massage - Deep tissue massage uses more pressure than a Swedish massage. It is a good option if you have chronic muscle problems such as soreness, injury or imbalance.
Sports massage - Sports massage is a good option if you have a repetitive use injury to a muscle such as what you may get from playing a sport. It’s also a good option if you are prone to injuries because it can be used to help prevent sports injuries.
Trigger point massage - Trigger point massages are best suited for people who have injuries, chronic pain, a specific issue or condition. Sometimes areas of tightness in the muscle tissues, known as trigger points can cause pain in other parts of the body. By focusing on relieving trigger points, this type of massage can reduce pain.
Reflexology - Reflexology is a great option for people who are looking to relax or restore their natural energy levels. It is also a good option if you aren’t comfortable being touched on your entire body. Reflexology uses gentle to firm pressure on different pressure points of feet, hands or ears.
Shiatsu massage - Shiatsu massage is best for people who want to feel relaxed and relieve stress, pain and tension.
Thai massage - Thai massage is best for people who want a more active form of massage and want to reduce and relieve pain and stress.
Prenatal massage - Prenatal massage can be a safe way for women to get a massage during pregnancy. It can help reduce pregnancy body aches, reduce stress and ease muscle tension.
Couple’s massage - A couple’s massage is a massage that you do with your partner, friend or family member in the same room. Other treatments such as pedicures, facials, and body scrubs are sometimes offered as part of a package.
Chair massage - A chair massage is best for people who want a quick massage that focuses on your neck, shoulders and back. A chair massage can also be a way to introduce you to massage if you have never had one before. This type of massage uses light to medium pressure.
What should I consider before deciding on my massage therapist?
There are a number of factors that are worth considering before choosing your masseuse.
Choice – It is important to consider why you want a massage. Do you want to find relief from chronic pain or are you just looking for a way to relax? Deciding why you want to get a massage will help you narrow down your options and find the right massage therapist.
Comfort- Getting a massage is a great way to relax both physically and mentally. It is easier to take advantage of this benefit when you feel totally comfortable. That is why you should find a massage therapist that makes you feel comfortable and at ease.
Recommendations – You are likely to have at least one friend or family member that has visited a professional massage therapist and read their reviews on Bark.
You can be confident that any of the Bark local massage therapists listed will give you a relaxing and therapeutic massage.
How do I check the Massage Therapists’ credentials?
You could look for massage therapists with a Level 3 Diploma in Massage or Complementary Therapies. The Council for Soft Tissue Therapies (GCMT) is the governing body for massage therapy and recommends that all massage therapists have taken a full or part-time course.
Before you choose a massage therapist, you could read testimonials and read details of their services on their website.
You could also look at their profile page on Bark and read massage reviews from past customers too. This might also help you get some ideas for the type of massage you want to book.
