I've worked as a DJ since the early 90s and have worked in music, entertainment and theatre ever since.
In terms of what I do as a DJ, the short answer is 'whatever you want me to do'! It's kind of odd but with a lot of DJs out there that is actually really unusual - I'm sure we've all been at events, whatever they might be - functions, Weddings and parties - where the DJ seems to be a law unto themselves, plays whatever they like and pays no mind whatsoever to what the client or the guests actually want!
Dave was the DJ for our wedding last year and was amazing. He played everything we wanted and we have had feedback that it was the best music at a wedding from our guests. Would recommend him to anyone for any event. He knows his music and is passionate about it.

Ryan has always shown a great interest in music and especially getting behind the decks. Originally starting as a bedroom DJ in the early years, sending out demos and playing at parties, Ryan now is an experienced mobile, bar and club DJ who plays at most venues for both private and public events.
Fab dj for our presentation night! Great mixture of music and even ran bingo for us!

Hello, my name is Chris. I started DJing in the mid 90's, originally I was playing hip-hop, soul and funk in various places in Manchester. More recently I run a Ibiza style house night - all kinds of house and disco with sax and percussion.
I have had some residencies over the years playing funk/soul and house but I feel that it has been in the local pubs and clubs and doing functions where I have really learned how to read a crowd and try and find tracks that people like regardless of genre.
Chris was brilliant. He played a brilliant set and had everyone up dancing right until the end. He was very easy to work with and replied to messages promptly. I would highly recommend him,

Leeds – a city for music lovers
Professional and aspiring DJs have flocked to Leeds since the boom of its electronic music scene in the 1980s. Over the years, Leeds became one of the UK’s nightlife capitals. Today the city still inspires music-lovers to step up to the decks. This means Leeds has no shortage of local DJs willing to make your event or party one to remember.
Many DJs will have experience working at particular events. These can include weddings, corporate events, or birthday parties. They can also provide special touches, such as smoke machines, lighting, or karaoke. Of course, your DJ will be more than happy to get the party started with club classics, but don’t be afraid to request other songs.

Hear from a professional
What do you enjoy most about being a DJ?
What I have realised through working as a disc jockey is how I can bring people joy and make special moments unforgettable. I can do this just through sharing my love of music, and that’s a fantastic feeling. I distinctly remember playing a track at one of my first gigs. Seeing everyone so excited to get on the dancefloor made me realise that this is what I wanted to do. So whether it’s a drum and bass mix or a cheesy classic, I’ll play it with a smile and put my own fun spin on it when I can.
How did you turn your passion into a profession?
Like a lot of people in the industry, I started as a ‘bedroom mixer’. It was only when friends started hearing my tracks that they said I should pursue it professionally. I began sending out demo mixtapes, quickly secured my first paid gig, and the rest is history!
Do you DJ for specific events?
I’ve spent a lot of time on the decks at nightclubs, but nowadays I tend to do more private parties. I do entertain at corporate events but the majority of my time is spent at birthday parties or weddings.
