JAK Vocals

(For quicker responses, please send me a personal email or head to my website which is linked on the profile! Thanks!) Jasmin is a qualified UK based Singing teacher and Vocal coach, with experience in Musical Theatre, Pop, Jazz and Rock. She is passionate about working with her students on a personal level to help them achieve their full potential as performers and in turn as people. Throughout school and most of her training, she marvelled over the mechanics of the human voice and studied it in her spare time. She quickly became well versed in many techniques, ranging from a classical style to the more modern Estill method. She graduated from Chichester Conservatoire with a First Class BA(hons) degree in Musical Theatre (Triple Threat) and Central School of Speech and Drama with an MA in Music Theatre with Distinction. Within her 4 years of professional training in musical theatre she gained experience in coaching and musical direction, sparking a passion for vocal tuition. This is then grew into what is now: JAK VOCALS Whilst building and running a vocal coaching business from the bottom up, she has taught people of different levels of singing, from professionals to absolute beginners. Alongside this, she has worked professionally in the performance industry for 3 years and has appeared in a variety of shows with many different performance styles. She is now working towards a Postgraduate degree in Voice Pedagogy from Voice Workshop (affiliated with University of Wales Trinity St David) with research focused on mental health and vocal performance anxiety.

What do you love most about your job?

Watching and listening to progress in my students, whether that's physically or mentally. Seeing the joy of someone's face when they have a breakthrough, even the tiniest one, is the best thing about teaching. Especially with something so personal as the voice.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I have always adored singing and nerding out about how the human voice works. Any chance I could throughout my training, I would help teach and guide my peers and it just seemed right to use the skills I gained from that to help guide people professionally.

Why should our clients choose you?

Learning how to sing begins with getting out of you head and into your body as that is where your real voice lives. By taking your emotions and feelings into account, my aim is to get this voice out of everyone.

You will gain a stronger and more personal understanding of your voice, how to use it properly and how to care for it. Both physically and mentally. With this understanding, your voice will start to serve you in a way you never thought possible.

Singing should feel euphoric and everyone deserves to understand that feeling.

These singing lessons will be tailored to the individual and together, we will aim to activate that feeling, give you confidence and melt away any anxieties you may have surrounding your voice.

Your voice is unique to you. Own it.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

All of my lessons are online at the moment. I provide a guide to setting up for an online lessons to ensure that little gets in the way of the learning experience. All lessons became remote from the first lockdown and students have still thrived and in some cases prefer it to in person as they feel safer in their own space.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

Made all of my lessons remote and incorporated flexibility for any missed lessons etc.
