How long will each Hypnotherapy session last?

This is dependent on both your hypnotherapist and your circumstances. One-off services such as smoking cessation or gastric band hypnotherapy can last around two hours, while a general hypnotherapy session will usually take about an hour.

How many sessions of Hypnotherapy will I need?

The duration of therapy will really be dependent on your circumstances and issues. Some people may require a longer-term approach with regular weekly sessions. Your hypnotherapist will let you know how many sessions they feel you might need when you start therapy and will be flexible when it comes to decreasing or extending the number of sessions according to your progress and needs.

Can I get online Hypnotherapy on Bark?

Absolutely! It couldn’t be easier to find hypnotherapy online using Bark. How does online Hypnotherapy work?

The only difference between online and offline hypnotherapy is that online hypnotherapy takes place from the comfort of your home. If it’s your first time working with a hypnotherapist, you’ll start by having an introductory chat with them to discuss the issues you’re dealing with and what you are hoping to change or improve through online hypnosis. Your hypnotherapist will then guide you to a natural state of focused attention, via the telephone or an online video communication tool like Zoom. Bark has hundreds of trusted online hypnotherapy experts ready to support you to take control of your life. Just tell us what you need and we’ll put you in touch with the best match for you.

Is online Hypnotherapy effective?

Absolutely! While face-to-face sessions are the most well-known form of hypnotherapy, you might be surprised to hear that online hypnotherapy is just as effective as in-person sessions. In some cases, you may find that it works even more, as feeling more at ease and comfortable in the safety of your own home can only have a beneficial effect.

How much do Hypnotherapists cost?

This will vary according to the level of experience and training that the hypnotherapist holds.

Your professional hypnotherapist will be able to advise you on the full range of therapies available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted hypnotherapist today.

What should I look for in a Hypnotherapy professional?

There are currently no guidelines in place stipulating the training and qualifications a hypnotherapist must have in order to practice. Industry guidelines recommend that individuals should have completed at least an appropriate diploma or have completed a course that involved a minimum of 450 learning hours, of which 120 hours must have been face-to-face.

Before you choose a hypnotherapist, you could take a look for qualifications and memberships from the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH) and the Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma (HPD).

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark and Bark can show you reviews from past customers who have used their hypnotherapy services.

What are the benefits of Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy has repeatedly and consistently helped patients with a whole host of issues. It can help with anxiety, depression, anxiety, PTSD, obesity, addictions, fear of flying, public speaking, stopping smoking, insomnia, weight loss amongst others. When combined with methods such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), valuable healing work can begin as quickly as one or two sessions.

How does Hypnotherapy work?

Firstly, you'll have a conversation with your therapist to discuss what you hope to achieve and agree on what methods your therapist will use. Afterwards, the hypnotherapist may lead you into a deeply relaxed state using agreed methods to help you towards your goals. For example, suggesting that you don't want to carry out a certain habit gradually bring you out of the trance.

You are fully in control when under hypnosis and don't have to take on the therapist's suggestions if you don't want to. If necessary, you can bring yourself out of the hypnotic state. Most people expect to be put to sleep or to forget what happened afterwards but the opposite is true. You're fully aware the whole time of what is happening.

What do you love most about your job?

Helping people is highly rewarding, we are talking about life changing results, it may only be a balloon phobia someone has for example but it’s really important to that person and their well-being.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I was inspired to start my own business after a friend visited a hypnotist for chronic pain, the pain lessened to such an extent it changed their life, I was intrigued, I’ve also always had a strong fulfilment from helping people.

Why should our clients choose you?

Clients should choose me because I’m not going to swing a watch in front of their eyes and say “you are getting sleepy”.... , Hypnotherapy is a skill that when used correctly can help people so much, I enjoy online as much as in-person, Clients should also choose me because I like challenges, sometimes the more obscure issue the better, I’m also quite informal and can help people feel relaxed, although I take my profession seriously, I’m never rude, always courteous and make sure that people are comfortable before we work together, change work requires two people, myself and the client, hypnosis is a two way experience, I don’t do hypnosis to you, I do hypnosis “with” you.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Remotely is very easy right now, due to COVID I’m only doing online, I send a booking link to the client where they book and pay, a zoom link is then sent on the day of the session, the client hits the link at the time booked and there I am, it’s very easy.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

I only do online hypnotherapy at the moment, as soon as the COVID pandemic is over, then I will start in-person again, I can visit a client or they can visit me in Glasgow, for reference it’s important to know that online works every bit as well as in-person.
