How long will each Hypnotherapy session last?

This is dependent on both your hypnotherapist and your circumstances. One-off services such as smoking cessation or gastric band hypnotherapy can last around two hours, while a general hypnotherapy session will usually take about an hour.

How many sessions of Hypnotherapy will I need?

The duration of therapy will really be dependent on your circumstances and issues. Some people may require a longer-term approach with regular weekly sessions. Your hypnotherapist will let you know how many sessions they feel you might need when you start therapy and will be flexible when it comes to decreasing or extending the number of sessions according to your progress and needs.

How does online Hypnotherapy work?

The only difference between online and offline hypnotherapy is that online hypnotherapy takes place from the comfort of your home. If it’s your first time working with a hypnotherapist, you’ll start by having an introductory chat with them to discuss the issues you’re dealing with and what you are hoping to change or improve through online hypnosis. Your hypnotherapist will then guide you to a natural state of focused attention, via the telephone or an online video communication tool like Zoom. Bark has hundreds of trusted online hypnotherapy experts ready to support you to take control of your life. Just tell us what you need and we’ll put you in touch with the best match for you.

Is online Hypnotherapy effective?

Absolutely! While face-to-face sessions are the most well-known form of hypnotherapy, you might be surprised to hear that online hypnotherapy is just as effective as in-person sessions. In some cases, you may find that it works even more, as feeling more at ease and comfortable in the safety of your own home can only have a beneficial effect.

How much do Hypnotherapists cost?

This will vary according to the level of experience and training that the hypnotherapist holds.

Your professional hypnotherapist will be able to advise you on the full range of therapies available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted hypnotherapist today.

What should I look for in a Hypnotherapy professional?

There are currently no guidelines in place stipulating the training and qualifications a hypnotherapist must have in order to practice. Industry guidelines recommend that individuals should have completed at least an appropriate diploma or have completed a course that involved a minimum of 450 learning hours, of which 120 hours must have been face-to-face.

Before you choose a hypnotherapist, you could take a look for qualifications and memberships from the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH) and the Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma (HPD).

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark and Bark can show you reviews from past customers who have used their hypnotherapy services.

What are the benefits of Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy has repeatedly and consistently helped patients with a whole host of issues. It can help with anxiety, depression, anxiety, PTSD, obesity, addictions, fear of flying, public speaking, stopping smoking, insomnia, weight loss amongst others. When combined with methods such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), valuable healing work can begin as quickly as one or two sessions.

How does Hypnotherapy work?

Firstly, you'll have a conversation with your therapist to discuss what you hope to achieve and agree on what methods your therapist will use. Afterwards, the hypnotherapist may lead you into a deeply relaxed state using agreed methods to help you towards your goals. For example, suggesting that you don't want to carry out a certain habit gradually bring you out of the trance.

You are fully in control when under hypnosis and don't have to take on the therapist's suggestions if you don't want to. If necessary, you can bring yourself out of the hypnotic state. Most people expect to be put to sleep or to forget what happened afterwards but the opposite is true. You're fully aware the whole time of what is happening.

‘19 Certificate of Excellence

I love to help people with anxiety, have written a book on it and won an award for my work. I have a particular passion for working with teenagers to support them in developing the skills that lead to resilience. I can also support people with related issues such as phobias, anger management, stress, overwhelm, depression and the symptoms of such conditions such as weight management or addictions. Before starting work with a client, we have a telephone conversation so we both have an opportunity to see if we are a good fit, allowing me to answer any questions you have and for me to tell you more about my style of therapy. My sessions are 90 minutes, which is different to most other practitioners. My aim is to get you to where you want to be mentally as quickly as possible and these longer appointments support this. Most important to me though is YOUR results. Read some client stories that may help you decide if this is the right path for you at https://www.carolinecavanagh.co.uk/client-stories/

What do you love most about your job?

Client success is what makes my day: The 15 year old who did all her classes in the art cupboard due to social anxiety, now running a successful beauty salon. A 13 year old who had pulled all her eyebrows and eyelashes out through anxiety now having grown them all back. The man who was shouting at his kids and could not control his temper, now having a happy homelife. The lady with a skin condition caused through stress who now has beautiful skin. Seeing their success and many other such stories, is what I love most.

Everyone is an individual and the work I do is tailored specifically to them and I love finding the right path for everyone to get to where they want to be

What inspired you to start your own business?

I walk the talk! I believe every day is there to be enjoyed to the full and for me, working in a home environment and managing my business so that I can give my kids a hug as they return from school is important to me. I like to help people achieve, what for them, means every day is the best it can be.

Why should our clients choose you?

I'd like to have a chat with you so that you can decide for yourself if I am the person you would like to work with. Good rapport is key to your successful outcome so it is important we both feel that is there and from that point, we are already off to a great start.

I work from a home environment which is, I feel, more conducive to relaxing and means no issues with parking.

Perhaps most importantly, don't take my word for it but listen to the input of clients. You can find a range of testimonials and case studies here: http://addingzest.com/case-studies/case-studies.php
