How much do PTs charge in Glasgow?

According to Bark data, hiring a personal trainer in Glasgow costs, on average, £20-£30 per hour. However, the final price can vary depending on factors like the length of your workout, your instructor’s qualifications and whether the session is private, group-based or online.

For more information read our personal trainer price guide.

Is a fitness coach worth the money?

The biggest benefits of hiring a gym trainer, whether you're new to fitness or a seasoned pro, are accountability, motivation, and personalisation.

If you’re planning on private training sessions, your workouts will be personalised to your own goals and current fitness level. This means you’ll likely see better and faster results, than you would from joining large fitness classes or following a generic plan online. It’s about making every minute of your workout count.

For those new to fitness or worried about getting injured, a personal trainer is an invaluable asset. They will teach you proper form and technique, giving immediate feedback to correct your posture and ensure every movement is precise. If you have any existing injuries or medical conditions, be sure to mention them so you can be matched with an appropriately qualified trainer who understands your needs.

Is there a way to make personal training more affordable?

In short, yes. You’ll likely find that private personal training sessions are the most expensive because of the tailored nature of the approach. However, buying a package deal or paying for a number of sessions upfront may get you a discount. It’s worth discussing with your trainer once you’ve connected. Alternatively, group training sessions or an online PT might be a more affordable option if you’re looking for a cheap personal trainer in Glasgow.

‘21 Certificate of Excellence

Hello! I believe that if your life is crazy, you need sanity in your training. Most of the advice and programs on the internet tend to be overly confusing and only add to the 'crazy'-my aim is to be an antidote to that. I see my own training as one of the foundations that hold the rest of my life together, as it produces what I like to call a 'cascade of positivity'. When I exercise regularly I'm a better partner and father, I'm more patient, more confident and generally just a nicer person to be around! This on top of all the physical benefits (that are too many to list here) makes it as important as brushing your teeth in my eyes. I love my job for so many reasons, but the connections I'm able to form with my clients and the potential for genuine life-long learning are the 2 main ones. Being able to help people that I'm genuinely invested in is incredibly rewarding, and the constant challenge of improving my technical knowledge, customer service etc. means I'm never bored! I work out of a small private studio (The FITT Principle) a 10 minute walk from Central Station. The gym has a really welcoming, chilled atmosphere and at its absolute busiest has 8 people in it including us trainers! If you're a veteran or completely new to the gym, we're certain you'll feel completely welcome and at home in our wee space. If I don't reply to you immediately via Bark, feel free to contact me directly via email or via my website!

How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?

My over-arching ideal is to educate myself out of a job, ensuring that every one of my clients knows exactly why they’re doing a certain exercise or making adjustments to their diets. I like to tow the line between the journey being fun but also results driven, which can be tough but ultimately gets the best, longest lasting outcomes!

What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?

Consistency. Consistency. Consistency. The best plan in the world won’t matter if you can’t make it work in the long term, which is why I put a huge emphasis on making sure my clients training and nutrition plans work specifically for them. Body recomposition is a complex process, but I can show you how it’s done!

What do you love most about your job?

I love getting to know my clientele and get a lot of joy helping them. Taking control of your health has a massive positive knock on effect to every other arena of your life, so being the catalyst for that is an amazing feeling.

What inspired you to start your own business?

Going out on your own is scary business, but becoming a PT was my life’s ambition so I took the chance as soon as it arrived. I haven’t looked back since.

Why should our clients choose you?

I’m good at what I do and aim to offer the best customer experience possible. I’m constantly adapting and evolving my systems and methods to match current research, so your time spent with me will be as efficient and effective as it possible can be. I love my job and take immense joy and satisfaction watching my clients becoming who they want to be!

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

I use an app to deliver sessions at home/in commercial gyms, and can also deliver 1-1 via zoom/FaceTime etc.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

Our gym is completely private, so we have absolute control over the space and the amount of people using it at any given time. We clean equipment in real time and deep clean every few days, and have separate entrance and exit doors.
