I started working with Matt 10 weeks ago to lose bodyfat. So far I've lost 8kg, but more importantly, I've improved my relationship with food. Matt took a holistic approach and I've changed key habits, like becoming more aware of the importance and how to get better sleep. The training has made me more aware of how my body moves, letting me get more out of exercise than I was before. If you're thinking of working with Matt but you're on the fence, go for it! It will be worth it! More...

My name is Nikolay and I consider myself a fitness enthusiast. Truth be told, with the amount of work that I have put in the gym, with the proper discipline I could have reached a fitness level I would have never thought possible. That is, until I met Matt. I answered to an Instagram post and that was the best fitness decision that I ever made. I have worked with PTs before and honestly until I started working out with Matt I thought and felt that it was a waste of money. I could never get in the shape that I was after simply because I was lacking the proper support and guidance and every PT claimed to know what works best. It turned out they were right – we worked on what was best for them or in general, not custom made programs. I started to doubt myself a while ago and it was not a good feeling. Getting up every morning at 5am, working out 5 days a week with little to show – I became the rounded, bulkier version of what I really wanted to do. I wouldn’t quit but motivation to push harder and further was absent. I can honestly say that thanks to Matt I found the key to success or at least he showed me and worked with me through it and never let me give up. I reached a level which my mind was preventing me from reaching simply because I had support – not with the weights or the reps, with making me believe that I can do that. He is always honest and clear in his directions and most of all, he is open-minded. He listens what you want and how you feel, he does not tell you how is to be done because this or that method works for most people. The personal touch is what I like the most and I appreciate the fact that my voice was heard and my opinion taken into consideration. Working with Matt or working under his guidance has taught me a very important element that I was lacking – self-discipline and accountability. In the past I found it okay to turn away from the good path and look for and find fine excuses to either indulge a lot more often that I should or just resolve to comfort food for various reasons. Having a plan to follow and having someone else that I had accountability towards made me stop – if I was at peace letting myself down with my behaviour, there was just no way that I will betray the trust that Matt showed in me by agreeing to work with me. If you really, and I mean really, want to make a positive change in your life and achieve your fitness and lifestyle goals then look no further that Matt, you will not regret it, I am a rather good example for what can be done and can be achieved. If you need a push, this is what you will get – the right push in the right direction. More...

I was hesitant to part with my hard earned money, I have worked with trainers in the past who didn’t get me results and I thought this might be the same. 3 months of working with Matt and I've gained 6kg, mostly muscle. And for the first time, other people started to comment on the improvements Not just the physical gains have been good, but in the mental space I feel a bit better as well. I used to focus a bit too much on work but now I feel that I’m a more balanced person. Unlike my past experience with trainers, I felt that Matt listened to what I actually wanted and tailored a plan specifically to fit around my goals & lifestyle. There was no stock-standard program; Bro-split, cottage cheese on toast BS. I learnt a lot about how nutrition works and busted a lot of myths and nonsense I had been taught over the years. I felt that’s quite important. You don’t want to be 35 and still have this hardcore rule in your mind like “no-carbs after 2pm bro”. If you’re on the fence about getting help with your fitness & nutrition, give Matt a shot and find out for yourself. More...

I’ve made more significant progress working with Matt over the time we’ve been working together than I think I could have achieved on my own, or with other PT’s. It’s been far more productive for me than anything else I’ve tried in the past. While my strength and fitness have improved as well as how I see myself physically, I feel I’ve also overcome mental barriers in my training while working with him. In the past, my goals almost seemed unachievable and I was overcome by demotivation. Now I can finally see myself reaching towards them. I found Matt to be more approachable, more thorough and considerate in his approach than my previous experience with PTs. He helped me in understanding my goals in a broader sense which has enabled me to identify areas of my lifestyle which could be improved to achieve my goals while helping me to gain a clearer perspective on what might be holding me back. He has been a great motivator, keeping me focussed and excited to work towards my goals. I’m now confident I can carry out more complex/ heavy exercises safely and effectively. I’m looking forward to each session more and more as I see progress. Thanks, I really appreciate everything you’ve helped me with so far and know that there’s a lot more progress to be made in working with you in future. More...

Before I started working with Matt I was going through some difficult times in my life. At the time I had stopped any physical activities I used to do, because life got in the way. At some point I realised that I needed change and I was determined to find it. I came across a post, or an add, on Instagram about Matt, and I said let me give it a go. I have worked with other personal trainers in the past, so I felt I knew what to expect when I signed up… I was so wrong, in a great way… The way Matt started working with me and my body is quite different from any personal trainer I have worked with. From our first meeting I knew he was different. When I was talking about my physical goals etc, immediately he was asking me about what has been stopping me (or what still is). I have never had that conversation with another personal trainer before. Having that support allowed me to explore my limits (both mental and physical). Now I have been working with Matt for about 4-5 months and I have seeing many changes. For example, my mood has changed, I feel more relaxed and confident, and my body has changed. Matt is an amazing guy, he is very passionate about his work, and he really cares about his clients and their wellbeing. Working with him this short time has been awesome and I can’t wait to see where I can go from here More...

I’ve had reservations about getting a personal trainer in the past, would it really be worth it? Matt quickly overcame my reservations, I felt improvements and confidence from day one. Looking back over the past months I can see great improvements in my strength, flexibility and handstands. Not only have I seen my physical wellbeing improve, but also my mental wellbeing. Matt was always vigilant in every session and asking questions, never letting a session go to waste. The plan was always updated and changed when something didn’t seem to be working, or something needed extra attention. Despite trying to improve my own training before by relentlessly googling any and every source possible, Matt has taught me things I couldn’t find online. I now feel I have a better understand of my body and how to train efficiently. I plan to continue working with him because not only has the progress in many areas surprised me, especially flexibility, but I can see there are many more smaller milestones I can achieve with his guidance. The benefits all around have been amazing and I would 100% recommend training with him to anyone! More...

As an individual who has been strongly into sport and fitness in a previous life. A bit cautious at first to invest time with a Personal Trainer with previous experiences with other PTs who were mediocre. With Matt it is a totally different story From the first assessment, Matt shows genuine interest in your specific goals, and oozing passion in his craft. Now 3 sessions in, I am encouraged and motivated to know that I am working with someone who knows their stuff, is exact about form and technique, is client centred and continually learns to improve himself which is inspiring. I feel safe to push my limits with the appropriate coaching with Matt and look forward to the progress with him on this journey. I would highly recommend this guy! More...

Matt Hill voluntarily coached the Robert Gordon University Weightlifting Club during his studies there. As a coach he was patient, encouraging and friendly. He fully engrossed himself in the sport of powerlifting and his knowledge of the sport, training, nutrition and mobility proved to be a huge asset to the club. Matt also genuinely cared for the success of the club and their lifters. He never missed a session and created programming for the members to follow along with mobility drills and exercises for injury prevention. Aside from powerlifting his knowledge with regards to general health and wellbeing is exceptional. During my time as a competitive powerlifter, Matt has been a great coach and motivator at many of my competitions. I cannot recommend him enough. He will show genuine interest in your success and always strive to make you better and achieve your goals. More...

I've known Matt for years now - back in 2015 I joined the Robert Gordon University Weightlifting Club where he was vice-president and coach. Matt was incredibly helpful from the start possessing a vast knowledge on both nutrition (always sparking interesting discussions) and lifting. Since meeting Matt my lifts have gone from hardly squatting the bar, benching the bar and lifting 40kg on my deadlift to numbers I could've never imagined. Matt being a big contributor to this considering he was my person to lean on in my first year of lifting. Two years, two Scottish records and five competitions later there's nobody else I would recommend more than Matt as a good motivator and knowledgeable coach. Also he is just quite a cool guy. When I finally decided to take on a Personal Trainer, I was skeptical of wasting money and being shown recycled routines that anyone could create. Not only does Matt blow any preconception of P.T's I had out of the water, he is an incredibly balanced athlete, showing great attention to detail in every movement, and challenges your body in ways you didn't know were possible. My personal targets were greater range of motion, strength and flexibility. To achieve this, Matt created a bespoke programme which has enhanced each of those criteria. Whether it's flexibility or strength training, injury and pain management, nutrition or general well-being, Matt has it all. On top of that, he's a genuinely nice guy, he beams with enthusiasm and I overall can't recommend Matt highly enough. More...

I first met Matt a few years ago through the University weightlifting club.Matt's passion for not just fitness but nutrition, sport specific training, mobility and general health was something that I found astounding. This is extremely evident in his knowledge on these subjects and his hunger to continue learning more (if there is a question he doesn't know the answer to you can bet he'll know the answer the next time you see him).
Beyond that; Matt is extremely approachable 'No question is a stupid question', he genuinely cares about your goals and helping you to achieve them.

Matt completely turned around my approach to fitness and nutrition within a matter of weeks of training with him, having not really paid attention to both exercising or eating well before. His up-to-date knowledge of fitness and nutrition is evident in his coaching and his own training. He constantly strives to push me to reach my own fitness goals - I am now stronger, healthier and have more energy than I have ever had!
I have every confidence in his success as a PT in Glasgow and would highly recommend him.

Matt worked with me on a 12 week programme to improve my strength conditioning and flexibility. He is the most thorough PT I've ever had and really knows his stuff. The training was tough but with his methods, not only did I break through my barrier, but I really got into it, through working on ring, bar, weight lifting and flexibility exercises. On advanced moves he has his technique down to a T and can really push you to the next level. Over the past three months I've made real gains in my strength, my flexibility and learned about methods to mentally focus on tough moves. Most importantly I stayed motivated to push on. This guy can really help with the big changes you want to make to your fitness routine and is on hand all the time with advice. Great working with him! More...
