I needed to put on some bulk and muscle as a bit skinny, and to get myself fit for a new job. Got recommended by a friend to James Monk - Personal Trainer at EPT. He spent some time listening to my objectives and put me on a tailored exercise programme including a new diet. It has been great working with James really knows his stuff! A load of exercises we did I never new existed and I actually use the gym equipment properly now! He promised me I would feel a lot different after 4 weeks - I did and we are now into some weight lifting to build strength. Highly recommend James Monk - experienced personal trainer who gets results!

Jon tutored me through my GCSE maths and computer science, then into A-Level maths. Without his personalised and memorable teaching methods I obtained a grade 7 in GCSE maths and an A in A-Level maths. He also tutored my older brother and twin sister through their maths. Would fully recommend Jon as a fantastic tutor.

Coming up to the end on my second month at the box and I love it! I travel up to 5 days a week from burwash which is a good 45 minute drive (one way) just to go to their mum fit class the coaches are amazing and I'd always feel like I'm in great hands every class I go to. U originally started this gym because it had an offer I couldn't refuse and I can take my daughter if I need to, but I stayed for the people and the buzz I get after a new achievement. Highly recommend Capacitas!!

Most personal trainers at some point in their career realise that helping clients to achieve their personal goals is not just about exercise programming and nutrition advice. There is a mindset element to the journey that needs to be addressed to ensure clients can make a most of their programme. Whether you label it or not, a big part of being a successful personal trainer is also being a great coach.
The most important thing is to set up realistic and achievable goals. By cutting up goals in small, achievable challenges, reaching specific targets will not be hard for clients to attain. To make my clients workouts more effective, i work with them to determite their fitness level first and help them progress at a bearable pace to a fitness level thats is right for them. I also make my clients accountable for their activities outside of the training sessions. That can make workouts more effective and helps my clients fit their new exercise routine into their life.
Organization is one of the keys to successful training session, beacuse it shows that i care about my clients time.
Also to make a workouts more effective for my clients , adding variety is a key. I try to create fitness challenges to increase motivation and consistency. I always stay positive to keep my clients motivated, beacuse right mind set is a key to success.
There is no secret here. If you make a healthy eating choices and exercise on a regular basis, your dream body can be a reality. You need a combination of hard work, determination, consistency and some kind of sacrifice in your life. So set your goals and lay out a path of how you plan to achieve them. Remember that you need to make real long term changes.
The thing I love most about my job is making a difference in people's lives. There is no better feeling then being a source of reliable knowledge for someone looking to make a fitness a priority in their life. Watching clients achieve their fitness goals and knowing that you had a helping hand in that is truly something to be proud of.
Starting my own fitness business wasn't decision that came easily. I have been working in fitness industry for few years now. When you working in a big fitness companies you are restricted what you can and can't do. Going out on my own means I could do what I love in my own way. I always wanted to make a difference in people's lives and through my work I can share my passion with others.
In my opinion, there are several very important qualities that every good personal trainer should have. And I’m not referring to their qualifications or level of experience (even though these are important too). I consider myself patient and understanding. Personal training is about people, first and foremost. Whoever you’re training, you need to understand their goals, aspirations and desires. I also like ask questions. This helps me determine the triggers that influence my clients behavior. It also gives me the opportunity to ask them what they could do differently next time to make a better decision, which improves future compliance. I am aslo genuinely invested in my clients' progress. I do care. I always keep the records of clients progress. As a personal trainers i try help my clients learn to believe in yourself and help them uncover their own strength and motivation.
Should I work out every day of the week?
It depends on your end goal. If you’re training for a marathon, you might work out nearly every day of the week. If you’re a low-level beginner, a minimum of three times a week is enough to make a noticeable impact. No matter what you’re working out for, everyone needs rest and recovery days. Without them, your muscles won’t be able to recuperate and grow strong, so remember to factor in some down-time, too!

Does my fitness instructor need to know anything about me?
Yes! First of all, they will chat with you about your goals, and discuss the best way to achieve them. They should also ask you to fill in a consent form to check that you don’t have any pre-existing health conditions that could impact your exercise. They’ll also carry out a health assessment to get a better idea of your current fitness level, tailoring your workout plan around that.

What does a standard personal training session involve?
It's tricky to say, as personal training sessions vary significantly depending on what you want to achieve and the type of workout. Generally, one personal training session tends to last forty-five minutes to one hour. It will start with a gentle warm-up, followed by the nitty-gritty of the actual workout, with stretches to end the session. Remember, warming up and stretching is essential for injury prevention - it’s just as important as the main part of the workout!

What qualifications should a personal trainer have?
A personal trainer needs to be clued up on all aspects of fitness, from the most effective exercise techniques to nutrition and human anatomy- that’s a lot of responsibility! You need to make sure your professional is suitably qualified for the job. After all, you shouldn’t cut corners when it comes to investing in your health. Make sure your trainer has the minimum qualifications required to practice. In the UK, this is the Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification.

Absolutely! Online personal training has become increasingly popular as more people are looking to maintain their fitness during lockdowns and gyms closing.
