Welcome to UmaxFitness, the online home of one of the leading elite personal trainers Eastbourne has to offer, Umberto Massimino. Like a false horizon on a long journey, many Eastbourne locals have made their way hopefully to local gyms, only to find that their individual inhibitions or lack of experience prevent them from achieving the results they hoped for. But there is a solution: by working with a qualified trainer and following a carefully devised personal fitness programme Eastbourne gym-goers can focus on their specific needs and overcome those obstacles which felt unsurmountable just a short time ago. “But,” you may ask, “where can I find a personal trainer near me who can offer one-on-one support?” Or you may wonder, “Who will be able to provide the coaching I need around my buy schedule or lifestyle?” UmaxFitness have a unique set of resources which make it possible to offer courses in personal fitness Eastbourne‘s busiest residents can still benefit from. The first resource is Umberto’s excellent knowledge and experience, coupled with deep seated motivation based in his own personal experiences. Here you have an Eastbourne personal training specialist who hears what you want, understands why you want it, and knows how to get you there. The second important resource is the Umax Fitness private gym studio. This dedicated space is a place where customers can come, shed their inhibitions and shed the pounds. We understand that while some fitness enthusiasts thrive in the gym environment, especially if they are new to the activity or haven’t been in a while. When you go to a private studio for fitness training Eastbourne customers can get used to the moves and equipment in a private, pressure-free environment, without the distractions of a busy gym. Contact UmaxFitness to take the first step toward your own personal fitness programme.

How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?

I do have a different approach to fitness where knowledge transfer is at the heart of the session. My clients are empowered so they can apply techniques and programs in future on their own. Adaptability and flexibility to clients needs are a must in my business.

What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?

Hard work and consistency. There are no short cuts!

What do you love most about your job?

I define myself a people person and i love the interactions with everyone. Because of that i have the opportunity to learn something new every single day, something not strictly related to fitness only.

What inspired you to start your own business?

A motorbike crush! When i broke my left shoulder i didn't receive adequate care from NHS and i thought "i will never be able to use my arm normally again". But at some point i decided to fight back and apply the small exercises from the physiotherapy in a bit larger scale in the gym 6 times per week. My recovery was astonishing. In 3 months doing that i recovered almost 90% of the normal use of my left arm. At that time i was heavily overweight as i was on bed for a while after the crush so i set to lose weight as my next goal. Using HIIT training with light weights and fast speed i lost around 30 kilos in 4 months! One day my girlfriend said "if you like what you do that much why don't you help others to achieve the same". So here i am.

Why should our clients choose you?

Differently of some other PTs i have experienced pain, i have experienced frustration, at some point i hated my body and i know how people feel when they talk about their life. For this reason i have created Umaxfitness gym. A completely different environment compared to commercial gyms. A small community where members come from similar experience and they are looking for something a bit more advanced for their training.

Personal Trainers FAQs

It depends on your end goal. If you’re training for a marathon, you might work out nearly every day of the week. If you’re a low-level beginner, a minimum of three times a week is enough to make a noticeable impact. No matter what you’re working out for, everyone needs rest and recovery days. Without them, your muscles won’t be able to recuperate and grow strong, so remember to factor in some down-time, too!

Pretty much anywhere! The great thing about personal training is that it’s flexible - as long as you have the necessary equipment, you and your instructor can decide to have your sessions from the gym, your home, the park, or even your office if you want to!

Yes! First of all, they will chat with you about your goals, and discuss the best way to achieve them. They should also ask you to fill in a consent form to check that you don’t have any pre-existing health conditions that could impact your exercise. They’ll also carry out a health assessment to get a better idea of your current fitness level, tailoring your workout plan around that.

It's tricky to say, as personal training sessions vary significantly depending on what you want to achieve and the type of workout. Generally, one personal training session tends to last forty-five minutes to one hour. It will start with a gentle warm-up, followed by the nitty-gritty of the actual workout, with stretches to end the session. Remember, warming up and stretching is essential for injury prevention - it’s just as important as the main part of the workout!

A personal trainer needs to be clued up on all aspects of fitness, from the most effective exercise techniques to nutrition and human anatomy- that’s a lot of responsibility! You need to make sure your professional is suitably qualified for the job. After all, you shouldn’t cut corners when it comes to investing in your health. Make sure your trainer has the minimum qualifications required to practice. In the UK, this is the Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification.

Absolutely! Online personal training has become increasingly popular as more people are looking to maintain their fitness during lockdowns and gyms closing. As long as you and your personal trainer have a strong internet connection and a device to stream on like a laptop, tablet or smartphone, there's no reason why your session can't be delivered remotely.
