RB Running & Wellbeing

I am just starting out in my personal training venture, however I have qualifications in personal training and running coaching. I am also a qualified teacher who has taught both Sport and Psychology and a BSc and MSc in Sport, Health and Exercise Science. I have had many years experience of running and also teaching people how to improve their training. Using the methods I use on myself I have achieved a half marathon time of 1:09:43 and a marathon time of 2:28:19. I want to use my expertise to improve people of all abilities to improve their health and wellbeing. Although, I do specialise in endurance training.

How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?

I would have 30-60 minute consultation with every client. This is to gather information on what they have previously done and what fitness goal they want to achieve. I will then discuss with the client a short-, medium- and long-term goal which is then agreed by them and myself. This will allow for great adherence and accountability for the client. I will then ensure the plan that is given to them is specific to their needs and progressively makes their body to adapt to achieve their fitness goal.

What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?

There is no secret. Consistency is key to achieving your fitness goal. By making sure you are turning up to most of the sessions that are set, you are one step closer to achieving what you want. By even looking for a personal trainer you are already one step closer to getting to you goal.

What do you love most about your job?

I love seeing people improving their physical and mental health through exercise and seeing how they progress throughout the plans that have been set. Where someone's race pace becomes their warm-up or easy pace because of how much they have progressed.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I have been a competitive runner since the age of 18 and have enjoyed the thrill and experience of challenging myself to be better. I am also a qualified teacher and I want to enable everyone to learn how they can use exercise as a powerful tool to help their overall wellbeing. I believe there is too focus on the physical changes and I started this business to improve not only their physical health but also their social, emotional and mental health.

Why should our clients choose you?

I am very knowledgeable in endurance training and am also a qualified running coach. I have built up many years of experience from competitive running and teaching to understand what it needed to improve and how everyone can make progress.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

I can provide sessions online or remotely from my own gym space. I can be with the client live to give them feedback while they are completing the exercises that have been set or I can record a pre-set workout for my client for them to complete in their own time.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

To ensure customers are kept safe from Covid-19, if I as the trainer had any symptoms of Covid-19 I will get myself tested. In addition, I will wipe down any equipment that has been used at the end of every session and also prior to any session starting. The workout space is also well ventilated and air-conditioned to minimise the risk of spreading.
