I am a personal trainer first and foremost with a specialism in Boxing. As an ex-professional boxer who has mixed in very good company amongst fighters such as Tyson Fury, Matthew Macklin and Anthony Crolla to name a few I embarked upon a journey into personal training almost 5 years ago. I began My career working for virgin Active which then became Nuffield health and I am now operating under my own banner of FWD fitness based at pyramid performance in Stockport. I have a genuine, friendly Manner and Love helping my clients change their lives using structured Weight training, bodyweight circuits and boxing drills tailored to their needs.

How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?

I use structured weight training programmings based around my clients abilities alongside bodyweight circuit exercises and powerful high intensity cardio sessions with a boxing twist.

I also offer boxing tuition and technical training to allow my clients if they desire to learn new skill that can come in useful in sport or on the streets.

What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?

Consistency, determination, focus, accountability and guidance are the keys to the dream!

these are the principles I base my personal training business around without making it dull!

What do you love most about your job?

I absolutely adore seeing a client come to me who has struggled with body image with low self esteem and watching their confidence grow over the time they spend training with until eventually they are almost unrecognisable to the person who came to me for their very first session!

On a shorter term basis I also love having a client come to me for a session in a foul mood and leave the session full of endorphins and happiness!

What inspired you to start your own business?

I began My Personal Training journey to use what I had learned a=s a skinny geeky kid turned professional boxer to help inspire people into learning fitness and boxing to show them that you don't have to remain what you believe you are, I love helping people and I believe the world should be founded on the principles of helping your fellow human to the best of your ability! so here I am!

Why should our clients choose you?

If any of the situations I've described in the questions above ring any bells, if you need some guidance, are starting from scratch with no clue about fitness, would love to learn to box or just need a new approach to your flagging fitness regime I am one hundred percent confident I can help you in these areas.

It depends on your end goal. If you’re training for a marathon, you might work out nearly every day of the week. If you’re a low-level beginner, a minimum of three times a week is enough to make a noticeable impact. No matter what you’re working out for, everyone needs rest and recovery days. Without them, your muscles won’t be able to recuperate and grow strong, so remember to factor in some down-time, too!

Pretty much anywhere! The great thing about personal training is that it’s flexible - as long as you have the necessary equipment, you and your instructor can decide to have your sessions from the gym, your home, the park, or even your office if you want to!

Yes! First of all, they will chat with you about your goals, and discuss the best way to achieve them. They should also ask you to fill in a consent form to check that you don’t have any pre-existing health conditions that could impact your exercise. They’ll also carry out a health assessment to get a better idea of your current fitness level, tailoring your workout plan around that.

It's tricky to say, as personal training sessions vary significantly depending on what you want to achieve and the type of workout. Generally, one personal training session tends to last forty-five minutes to one hour. It will start with a gentle warm-up, followed by the nitty-gritty of the actual workout, with stretches to end the session. Remember, warming up and stretching is essential for injury prevention - it’s just as important as the main part of the workout!

A personal trainer needs to be clued up on all aspects of fitness, from the most effective exercise techniques to nutrition and human anatomy- that’s a lot of responsibility! You need to make sure your professional is suitably qualified for the job. After all, you shouldn’t cut corners when it comes to investing in your health. Make sure your trainer has the minimum qualifications required to practice. In the UK, this is the Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification.
