I started training with Matt just over a year ago....it's definitely been the best thing for me! I didn't feel confident training in the gym on my own and I certainly wouldn't have pushed myself to do things I am capable of now. Not only does Matt motivate you to do the best you can, he inspires you to do things you never thought possible. His positive outlook, and continued guidance insures that you push your boundaries, and leaves you eager to return after an exhausting session. Each session leaves you with a sense of achievement and pushes you to reach your goals and find new ones. 6 months ago running a 10k seemed impossible, yet with Matt, I know I can do it.

I have been having PT sessions with Matt for 3 months now and I am thoroughly enjoying them. I have learnt a lot about fitness and the best methods to train and Matt has done a great job motivating me and tailoring sessions to suit my needs. I have lost over a stone and I have been receiving plenty of compliments from friends and family, which has been great. Before I met Matt I was a sporadic gym user. I would sign up to a gym, train for a few months and then give up through boredom and lack of motivation. I only used the cardio machines, mainly because I was too clueless and intimidated to try doing something else (particularly the heavy weights with all those blokes around!), which was dull and monotonous.

Matt has introduced me to a whole new way of working out which genuinely produces results. The sessions are always varied and Matt is a great motivator - even when I say I can't do something he pushes me and shows me that I can - "can't" is not a word that he has in his vocabulary.

When I met Matt I couldn't even do one "proper" press up (i.e. the ones where you have to have your knees off the floor!) and now (as demonstrated by a recent post) I can smash out 90 in a session.

Since having Matt as a personal trainer I am fitter, stronger and slimmer. I would definitely recommend Matt as a personal trainer to everyone!

I have been Training with Matt for 12 weeks now and I am really enjoying the sessions. Matt's positivity has definitely helped me to feel more at ease in the gym and he has given me the confidence to come to the gym and to use equipment that I would never have used before.
Matt ensures that each session is varied and challenging, encouraging me to carry on when Im just about ready to give up!
He takes care to check that my posture is correct to avoid injuries and is very good at adapting movements/equipment when something doesn't suit you.
I am feeling fitter and healthier already and I always leave a session feeling exhilarated.
I've just had a session this evening and I am already looking forward to my next one!

Following a recent injury, suffered during an Elite Spartan Race, I approached Matt with my issues and explain what I had done.

Matt listened to what I believed to be my injury and my symptoms before working on my legs, releasing any knots and tensions I had.

During the race I tweaked my Achilles, and Matt was able to find the scar tissue and break it down to ease the pain I felt. Even after only one intensive session my mobility and flexibility in the Achilles is a 100 times better and I've been able to do some light jogging and get on the road to recovery before the Obstacle Course World Championships in October later this year!!

I will definitely be using Matt again to help with my recovery and general maintenance during my training program.

I approached Matt for some help after hitting a plateau in both my weight loss and general fitness levels.
I’d been attending the gym for a year or two with some breaks, always felt a little unsure of equipment and didn’t push myself. I’m now really motivated in both my nutrition and exercise.
I have only had a few sessions so far but already feel like I can achieve my goals with his continued support.
Not only is is friendly and makes the sessions fun, he’s incredibly knowledgeable and super professional.

It depends how you define 'healthy'. At Sthenos we stick to what is fact and scientifically proven. This means that we aren't just telling you what we believe, a biased point of view on nutrition, but the truth behind your problems. If you are over weight then you are over consuming calories. If you are under weight then you are under consuming calories. This is all relative to the equivalent amount of exercise you are doing, on average. A healthy lifestyle is something that the individual can sustain for life and allows them to still do the things they enjoy without causing their weight to massively fluctuate either way.

We help our clients by sitting them down, discussing their past (what they have already tried and why it failed), explaining why their past protocols most likely failed and then introduce them to our way and why it works. This is all done in a consultation. Getting to know the client and the issues they have are key to building a successful relationship. Understanding their mentality towards health and fitness will help us understand where they are going wrong and why.

Consistency and education. Simple.
If you are unable to maintain and be constant with a particle protocol, it aint going to work. Your not going to lose weight by simple dieting for 1 day and then binging the next. This will most likely cause you to do 1 step forward and 2 steps back.
We like to educate our clients. Teach them what a calorie is and how to manage and properly track them. Yes, you don't need to track everything but if you want to see the best results then it pretty important that you do. Its like traveling to the moon, you don't need to count each kilometre but you still need to go the distance.

Our calorie controlled meals will supply you with the relevant fuel needed to make your goal easily attainable. Don’t be afraid of calories, we will work out your calorie intake to suit your goals. If your goal is fat loss, simply go for the Sthenos’ Shred meal plans. These provide your calorie deficit to burn fat. If its muscle building your after then select the Stenos Stack plan. Increased calories, increased protein all adds up to increased ‘gains’.
