Yoga is much more than a kind of physical exercise. This practice helps you train your mind and body, stay fit, solve and prevent a variety of medical problems, and simply makes you feel great. Good yoga classes will teach you not only the physical aspects of the practice but also train you in the ways of meditation and even offer nutrition advice.
  • Bark will find you yoga classes that can teach you various types of yoga. The most popular are ashtanga yoga, kundalini yoga, lyengar yoga, Anusara yoga, and Jivamukti yoga. You can also find specialized classes of restorative yoga that will help you recuperate after a stressful day of work. Yoga is so efficient in restoring your body to its full capacity that it comes highly recommended as a complement to post-surgery and post-injury physical therapy. There are also classes that focus on prenatal yoga that helps future mothers reduce the physical stress of the pregnancy.
  • Yoga classes may offer extra services. For example, some of the schools and yoga centers offer video lessons for at-home yoga practice. They also often post simple exercise routines on their websites. Experienced yoga professionals also offer individual training and can design a personalized program that will help you deal with your particular set of health issues.
  • The yoga teachers that Bark puts you in touch with can be complemented with some other services that will help you get healthy, lose weight, or change your body shape. We offer the contacts of nutritionists and personal trainers as well as martial arts and swimming classes.

The Living Yoga Project

In the over-saturated field of yoga in the West, The Living Yoga Project is one of the very few initiatives out there promoting yoga as intended by the classical masters. Rather than limiting itself to some "style" or other, it taps into the endless source of classical yoga with literally hundreds of different practices for - physical, mental and spiritual health, - strength and wellbeing, - harmony within oneself and with one's environment, and - helping to find the answers to the ultimate questions - to those who seek. With over 11 years of practical experience in working with diverse groups of people worldwide, Mahesh will find a way to make yoga work for you, whatever your needs, goals, or starting point.

What do you love most about your job?

Being able to share the teachings of classical yoga and see my students' lives improve by their application is just about the most rewarding type of job I can imagine.

What inspired you to start your own business?

A strongly felt need to present yoga in its original, complete form, due to its generally high level of dilution, limitation, and distortion in the West.
Yoga has solutions for literally every problem and every person, but most people think of it as some form of stretching with a spiritual twist.
Helping people through yoga, and helping yoga through raising awareness: these are the two major driving forces behind my work.

Why should our clients choose you?

After over 10 years of training, 5 of that residentially in our Indian ashram, I still consider myself a beginner on the path, albeit one with some head-start compared to most.
I neither arrogantly pretend to "know it all", nor present the science of yoga as a fruit of my own achievement.
Instead, what you get when training with me is a connection to real yoga - the ultimate science of life - as promoted by one of the most ancient spiritual traditions in existence.
My clients include students, professionals, young or retired, in good health or with major challenges, and anywhere in between, who come with the most diverse needs and goals in life.
It is therefore very likely that I will be able to help you find your own path as well.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Most of my work has been happening online since March 2020, but I am open to personal tuition under the right circumstances.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

By taking my business online almost exclusively. I also teach practices that have been shown to have major beneficial effects on overall health, the immune system in particular.
