Over the last 15years I’ve transformed myself from overweight couch potato, to a multiple marathon, ultra and Ironman athlete and now I help similar athletes to reach their goals too. I’m not an elite athlete. I have always balanced my training with a full-time job, active social life and a young family, so I can relate to recreational athletes who want to get the most out of their sport without compromising their personal commitments. At ITR, we have only one “rule”: Training must be fun. If it’s not, we’re doing something wrong! If you enjoy the training, you’ll do it, you’ll do it well, and you’ll keep on doing it! How it works: 1) 30min consultation to discuss your goals, training background, any injury/medical history, your availability to train and any key dates. 2) I write you a totally customised training plan in either 7 or 28 day blocks 3) We catch up either every week or 28days to review your progress, shape the next training block, goals or milestones, or anything you need to discuss 4) You share the journey with fellow ITR-coached athletes via WhatsApp and weekly ZOOM calls; celebrating results, sharing best-practice and advice Check out the two coaching options in “Services” or at www.intherunningcoaching.com
Seeing my clients experience the “light bulb” moment with their running. I love nothing more than when I get the call from a client telling me that “they get it” or that they’ve signed up for another race/event that’s even bigger than the last one.
I had previously been involved in range of coaching or training roles and absolutely loved them, so decided to combine my coaching experience with my love for running and triathlon, and started with the occasional client during evening and weekends in 2020.
During the depths of the lockdown in 2021, I was unable to work my day job properly and so made the leap to make the run/Tri coaching a full-time gig - and I’m LOVING it!!
I recognise that every athlete is different, and take pride in delivering a totally bespoke service to everyone who joins. We not only train your body, but your mind too by setting goals and milestones with rewards along the journey to keep you focussed and on track.
I have 10+ years of competing in and completing a range of endurance events and challenges including and not limited to; 24hr cycle race, multiple marathons, ultra marathon and Ironman Triathlons, LEJOG + 3-Peaks.
Whilst never a PRO athlete, I have a wealth of knowledge and experience, in particular of how to balance a demanding training regimen with a full-time job, a young family and an active social life - something a pro or former pro athlete may not have had to deal with.

All training plans are delivered remotely. Depending on which coaching package you sign up for, training plans will be sent weekly/monthly either via TrainingPeaks or email.
All ITR TROOP/TRIBE/KICKSTARTER programs give you access to the ITR Accountability Group. This is a way of connecting all of our athletes together which helps accountability with training, as well as offering encouragement, support and a sense of being part of a mini-community. We have a group WhatsApp chat and a weekly group Zoom call.
