I started instructing Krav Maga in 2014 after completing my General Instructors Course (GIC) with Krav Maga Global (KMG) renowned for being the most comprehensive self-defence instructors training course in the world.
I served in the British Army for over 30 years reaching the rank of Captain, most of which was in the elite Royal Army Physical Training Corps, before deciding to leave the Forces to focus on teaching Self Defence. I have served in Iraq, the Balkans and Afghanistan so understand the reality of Krav Maga Self Defence like no other civilian instructor. I am an active Bodyguard and have a BSc (Hons) in Sports Rehabilitation, so you will be in safe hands, and an MSc in Strength & Conditioning so with my coaching you will soon be Safer, Fitter, Smarter and Always Ready.

Lon's managed to tick all the boxes and then some. As a busy professional, I was looking for a PT that could meet me for 1-1 sessions in a park nearby. I wanted to concentrate on Muay Thai training, and Lon has helped a lot here while also throwing in bits of knowledge from other fighting sports. My main aim overall was to increase my stamina and strength, and even before I'm ten sessions in with Lon, I can see a massive improvement. Lon is mindful about just how much to push you during a training session, so you feel maximum gains are being made each week. I’ve had an amazing experience working with Lon. His strength training sessions have helped me build real muscle, improve my posture, and stay consistent with my goals. This is the first time I’ve truly noticed a difference in my body after years of attending gym classes, and it’s all thanks to his guidance. He has excellent theoretical knowledge, gives great lifestyle advice, and keeps every session purposeful and motivating. His fitness app has also been a huge bonus – it helps me stay on track between sessions and supports my overall health journey. He’s patient, a fantastic teacher, and a great motivator. The workouts are always challenging but genuinely fun, and I always leave feeling stronger and more confident. I would highly recommend!

HertsKDS is a very good karate club. My trial lesson went very well. The instructors were friendly and helpful and the teaching of the subject was very good. I would suggest that anyone who wants to learn Karate at a good club should come along for a free trial lesson to see if they would like to join the club.
