Being older than the average Personal Trainer means that I have had real experience of many of the issues facing people as they become less active and more overweight. How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?

I help my clients to achieve their fitness goals by first understanding exactly what those goals are and by breaking them down into small steps with measurable milestones along the way so that we can make sure the programme is working and if not, we can make adjustments.

What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?

To get the body of your dreams you first need to visualize what that body will look like, where will you be? how long have you set yourself to achieve? How will you feel when you are there? This visualization is perhaps the most important aspect of a successful outcome. Then, by introducing regular and enjoyable exercise and making changes to your eating habits, you will soon be on your way to getting that body.

What do you love most about your job?

I love the interaction with my clients. I learn so much and just when I have it all worked out, something or someone comes along to challenge my beliefs and perceptions. People are fabulous and my greatest joy is helping people to discover for themselves just how fantastic they are and to love themselves.

What inspired you to start your own business?

Mostly that I love working with people and outdoors but also that I thought the fitness and weightloss industries had the wrong approach. Exercise on it's own will not make you lose weight and dieting will not make you fit. Putting those two togeter, makes a winning combination. Together, we can do that.
