How much do PTs charge in Hull?

According to Bark data, hiring a personal trainer in Yorkshire costs, on average, £25-£35 per hour. However, the final price can vary depending on factors like the length of your workout, your instructor’s qualifications and whether the session is private, group-based or online.

For more information read our personal trainer price guide.

Is a fitness coach worth the money?

The biggest benefits of hiring a gym trainer, whether you're new to fitness or a seasoned pro, are accountability, motivation, and personalisation.

If you’re planning on private training sessions, your workouts will be personalised to your own goals and current fitness level. This means you’ll likely see better and faster results, than you would from joining large fitness classes or following a generic plan online. It’s about making every minute of your workout count.

For those new to fitness or worried about getting injured, a personal trainer is an invaluable asset. They will teach you proper form and technique, giving immediate feedback to correct your posture and ensure every movement is precise. If you have any existing injuries or medical conditions, be sure to mention them so you can be matched with an appropriately qualified trainer who understands your needs.

Is there a way to make personal training more affordable?

In short, yes. You’ll likely find that private personal training sessions are the most expensive because of the tailored nature of the approach. However, buying a package deal or paying for a number of sessions upfront may get you a discount. It’s worth discussing with your trainer once you’ve connected. Alternatively, group training sessions or an online PT might be a more affordable option if you’re looking for a cheap personal trainer in Hull.

How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?

A stEP in the right direction
This is about positive change and better outcomes for you. You may have never been to a gym, perhaps struggling with that first step into fitness or in need of some clear direction during a tough period in your life.

I don’t believe in a one size fits all approach and work hard to ensure that your Exerscription is safe, fun and effective so you achieve the results you deserve.

So, take that step and make it count.

What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?

Exercise Prescription gives you the opportunity to benefit from a structured programme of physical activity specifically tailored to meet your needs. This promotes a safer yet progressive approach to exercise regardless of age, functional ability, or the presence of coronary heart disease (CHD) risk factors.

What do you love most about your job?

ollowing my cancer diagnosis in 2016, my priorities changed almost overnight. Family and friends came first and I shifted my focus to my physical health & mental wellbeing, learning also to appreciate the little, yet important, things in life.

Having worked in the fitness industry for 13 years, I exercised most days and enjoyed nutritious meals but I also had a huge amount of stress in my life. I worked long hours in a job I loved, but I was caring for my autistic son and typically sleeping for only 5 hours a night. While people have always been important to me, I never really took enough time in my schedule for me.

Having just undergone a mastectomy, reconstructive surgery and 6 rounds of chemotherapy, I saw the positive effect that regular exercise had on my side-effects, recovery and mental wellbeing.

My ah-ha moment came when I realised that there was really no one in my local area or indeed online that was suitably qualified to help me recover from the devastating effects that the cancer treatments had on my body. Using my fitness background and applying the learnings from my own journey, I decided to create a service to help individuals with chronic health conditions and/or a cancer diagnosis.

As a Cancer and Rehabilitation Specialist, I am qualified to train patients pre-treatment, during treatment, and post-treatment for all types of cancers, including palliative care. I am also qualified to work with 13 chronic conditions including Diabetes, Obesity, Hypertension, COPD, Stress, Anxiety, Osteoporosis and Joint replacement, and feel very privileged to be able to support others through their own journey; which for some can be a very daunting prospect.
