I have only attended a hand full of sessions with Mike so far, after looking at his work over the last year and what he does I decided to take the plunge, the gym is not new to me as I have been training my self for the last 6-7 years, I struggle with progression and feel as though the only improvement I have made is my fitness rather than my strength. The research shows the healthier and fitter you are the less likely you are to get covid-19. Throughout the lockdowns I was a part of the campaign to keep gyms open as the research shown that gyms were only responsible for 2% of the infection rate (despite people believing heavy breathing in gyms would cause the opposite). I take the same evidence based approach in my personal training with clients. I go off what the science says. I witnessed first hand a lot of our clients struggled with their mental health and also physical health by not being able to attend the gym. I too expeirenced this and was in a dark place.
Although home workouts are a good tempoary alternative, unless you have a really good home gym setup, you will not get the same level of results from bodyweight home workouts. Any PT who says otherwise is not being truthful.
I work with men who want to build muscle, look leaner and more athletic and overall have a better shape in their frame and this is very difficult to achieve from home workouts.

I believe getting out the house for an hour to work on your body and mind is one of the most powerful and healthy things you can do and something I think everyone should prioritize
