Professional driveway services may cover:

  • Power washing or deep cleaning to remove oil, grease, moss or dirt

  • Minor repairs such as filling cracks, fixing edging, re-levelling or re-laying surfaces

  • Sealing or resealing of driveways (for example tarmac, concrete or block paving)

  • Resurfacing or full driveway renovation for severely worn surfaces

  • Drainage checks and repairs if water pooling or drainage issues are involved

These services help restore appearance, improve safety and extend the lifespan of the driveway surface.

When to hire driveway maintenance

Consider calling a professional if you notice:

  • Oil stains, moss, weeds or deep dirt on your driveway

  • Cracks, sinking, uneven surfaces, potholes or broken paving

  • Drainage issues such as water pooling or flooding near the driveway

  • Wear from heavy use, weather damage or frequent vehicle traffic

  • A desire to resurface or modernise the driveway for better aesthetics or durability

How to choose the right driveway maintenance provider

When comparing quotes, look for:

  • Experience with your driveway type (tarmac, concrete, block paving, etc.)

  • Clear breakdown of services (cleaning, sealing, repairs, resurfacing)

  • Use of appropriate materials and equipment (high-pressure washing, sealants, quality concrete or tarmac)

  • Transparent pricing and a clearly defined scope of work

  • Good reviews from past clients, especially those with similar driveways

A reliable provider will offer a clear plan, explain what work is needed and give a realistic estimate rather than under-promising.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does driveway maintenance cost in the UK?

Checkatrade guidance shows that driveway cleaning in the UK typically starts from £45 to £90 for small driveways. Larger or heavily stained driveways cost more depending on surface type, size and overall condition. These figures are a general guide. For an accurate price, request a quote based on the specific requirements of your driveway.

Why do driveway maintenance costs vary so much?

Costs depend on several factors, including driveway size and layout, surface material, severity of damage, whether drainage or structural repair is required, and the quality of materials used. Labour rates and local demand across the UK also affect the final price.

What does a maintenance quote usually cover?

A proper quote should include surface cleaning or sealing, any repairs or resurfacing work, materials used (sealants, concrete, tarmac, sand), labour costs, debris disposal and any drainage or finishing work required.

How often should I have my driveway maintained?

A driveway should ideally be cleaned and sealed every two to four years. For driveways with heavy traffic or frequent vehicle use, annual checks and minor maintenance can help prevent more serious damage.

Awesome company. They completely change our patio and stairs to a new outdoor space. The work is professional, plan to detail and very reliable. I highly recommend.

First class service from start to finish. Had a few problems with gutters overflowing and down pipes blocked due to years of debris. Mark looked at the job and gave me a quote to sort out the problems. (Which was very reasonable ) They turned up when they said they would and did a first class job. All the gutters cleaned out and looked great. The down pipes were unblocked and have all been working perfectly during a month of heavy rain. I cannot recommend JEMOBA enough. A breath of fresh air to deal with a company that turn up when agreed, carry out repairs as agreed and for the price agreed.
