I have worked in adult mental health since 2014 and have 9 years of private, local authority and NHS experience combined. I offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and EMDR depending on what you are currently struggling with, I am passionate about these approaches and have experienced personally and professionally the transformative effect they can have on people’s lives. If you would like more information about CBT or EMDR please check out my website: https://eatonpsychotherapy.co.uk I understand that feeling low and anxious can feel like an overwhelming and really difficult place to be, but you do not need to struggle with these feelings on your own, I would love to be able to support you to get back to feeling like yourself. If you are struggling with low mood, anxiety, or as a result of a traumatic experience you have been through and would like to reach out to me for an appointment please get in touch. What do you love most about your job?

I love being able to work together with clients to gain an understanding of themselves within the context of the difficulty they are experiencing and breaking each part of the cycle down and treating each area. I find it really fulfilling to see clients feeling happier and making changes as therapy progresses.

I love that CBT and EMDR are therapeutic approaches that allow for exploration and are also very practical in terms of reducing symptoms and reaching a particular goal.

Why should our clients choose you?

I think the approach I take provides clients with a great opportunity to improve their mental health within therapy and beyond.

My approach is a goal focussed one which prioritises gaining an understanding of the problem you are experiencing within a supportive and empathetic environment and treating the problem through evidence-based interventions so that you are able to reach your goals and feel happier overall.

I recognise that having an understanding as to why certain thoughts feeling and behaviours are occurring is a really important part of the therapeutic process, this knowledge increases awareness of unhelpful cycles and allows us to be kinder to ourselves as we move towards improving our mental health. I also believe that learning skills within therapy that you can take forward to manage difficulties in the future is a central part of the process and my aim would be for you to learn to be your own therapist.

I understand that feedback from clients can be really helpful when choosing a therapist. Please check out my google business page for reviews from clients that I have worked with.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Yes, I can provide services online via zoom or face-to-face depending on your preference.

This man directly contacted me after I sent a message to bark describing my anxieties whilst suffering with it severely, after 4/5 months of spaced out sessions he has changed me as a person, how I view things, how I deal with things, my look on life, what I need in my life and what I do not. I have had a few therapists who I have always left disappointed and I can honestly say I will never forget Angus and how much he has done for me, a very genuinely kind and caring man. Thank you so much again.

I was off work with stress and burnout from my job as a nurse. I was seriously thinking about quitting the profession but didn't know what else I could do. I've always been the strong one that people came to for support but I had to accept I didn't know what to do all the time. I was crying just before I spoke to you because I felt so fed up. My anxiety had got so bad I didn't want to go out or visit a friend on my own. Anxiety was holding me back in every area of my life. I spoke so negatively about myself it was actually difficult for people to be around. I felt like I was wasting my years and not living. --- I did 10 sessions with Andy over 3-months and I feel like a different person. Before the coaching I described my level of anxiety as 9 out of 10. Now it's 3 out of 10. Learning to accept the way I feel has been ground-breaking. Now I realise it’s healthy to speak about my emotions. We never did that, growing up. I enjoy life more, I feel more whole, more content. Before I was caring for others but not myself, now I care for myself too. It's meant I've been able to go back to work with a completely different attitude. If I start to feel overwhelmed I take some deep breaths or ask to take a break. I'm managing the anxiety so much better now. I'm letting go of needing to know all the answers. I've got a much better relationship with my mum and brother because we've opened up about our feelings for the first time ever. I've got more independence because I don't need to rely on my partner as a safety blanket. I used to be so snappy, and took everything personally and now I’m joking with him like I used to and being my old self. It's taken a lot of pressure of him. I was getting in my own way before. Now I'm finding more enjoyment, starting hobbies, feeling more optimistic. Before the future looked bleak, now it feels exciting and I want to be ambitious.
