Done a couple of sessions with Becky and been to her bootcamp. I live a bit further away so I moved on to do a plan that I get online. I love doing weights now, which is something I was always nervous about. Slowly starting to see results which is motivating in itself, but also Becky is really motivating

I highly recommend Whiteway fitness - I have attended bootcamp most Wednesday evenings for a while now, but I have recently taken up personal training with Conor. I am two sessions in and it really is great!! Conor has clearly walked me through the whole personal training process to date (explaining any areas that I didn’t understand or wanted to know more about), he has gone through my goals with me, defined a personalised training plan based on my goals and is now training me twice a week. I have a plan to follow at home and he is always on hand to support / offer help when needed. I am really looking forward to continuing to train with him and achieving my goals! Px

I have been been a member for about 3 years and joined with a view to improve my squash. Having only been a social player for years, it immediately opened me up to a vast ability of players and I soon learned never underestimate anyone with grey hair or advancing years. The squash ladders give you the opportunity to play different players and move up to play people of higher standards that ordinarily you wouldn't normally play.Coaching is available from highly experienced and commended staff and often just give no cost advice on a specific area of your game.At peak times you may struggle to get a court but if your organised shouldn't be a problem. For me I work shifts and can generally get a court. The gym is well equipped and personal trainers are available to tailor a fitness workout should you wish. There are a variety of classes throughout the day and again they tend to be more popular of an evening. And once you have worked up a thirst enjoy the well stocked bar with Sat TV. Its not David Lloyd's but it is friendly local club and excellent value for money.

I have been attending bootcamp session since around November time last year... and love it! Can’t believe I haven’t left you guys a review yet.
I can’t recommend powerhouse enough, great team of instructors running it, and an even better team of attendees... It’s a relaxed and social atmosphere but yet you still get a great work out. Each instructor has there own style which means you get varied workouts throughout the week.
Weather your new to exercise or a regular gym goer there is something for everyone, they are still keeping me on my toes 7months on from my first session!
These guys really have gotten it spot on, well done team powerhouse!
Should I work out every day of the week?
It depends on your end goal. If you’re training for a marathon, you might work out nearly every day of the week. If you’re a low-level beginner, a minimum of three times a week is enough to make a noticeable impact. No matter what you’re working out for, everyone needs rest and recovery days. Without them, your muscles won’t be able to recuperate and grow strong, so remember to factor in some down-time, too!

Where can I have my personal training sessions?
Pretty much anywhere! The great thing about personal training is that it’s flexible - as long as you have the necessary equipment, you and your instructor can decide to have your sessions from the gym, your home, the park, or even your office if you want to!

Does my fitness instructor need to know anything about me?
Yes! First of all, they will chat with you about your goals, and discuss the best way to achieve them. They should also ask you to fill in a consent form to check that you don’t have any pre-existing health conditions that could impact your exercise. They’ll also carry out a health assessment to get a better idea of your current fitness level, tailoring your workout plan around that.

What does a standard personal training session involve?
It's tricky to say, as personal training sessions vary significantly depending on what you want to achieve and the type of workout. Generally, one personal training session tends to last forty-five minutes to one hour. It will start with a gentle warm-up, followed by the nitty-gritty of the actual workout, with stretches to end the session. Remember, warming up and stretching is essential for injury prevention - it’s just as important as the main part of the workout!

What qualifications should a personal trainer have?
A personal trainer needs to be clued up on all aspects of fitness, from the most effective exercise techniques to nutrition and human anatomy- that’s a lot of responsibility! You need to make sure your professional is suitably qualified for the job. After all, you shouldn’t cut corners when it comes to investing in your health. Make sure your trainer has the minimum qualifications required to practice. In the UK, this is the Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification.

Can I get a Personal Trainer online?
Absolutely! Online personal training has become increasingly popular as more people are looking to maintain their fitness during lockdowns and gyms closing. As long as you and your personal trainer have a strong internet connection and a device to stream on like a laptop, tablet or smartphone, there's no reason why your session can't be delivered remotely.
