Music First provides live sound including PA hire, sound engineering and get-in / get-out for all sizes of event, supporting bands, concerts, festivals, open mic nights and any other sort of music event. We also provide more general PA for public events, indoors and out, corporate and public. This includes parties, conferences, stage and theatre shows, public meetings and sporting events. We offer special rates for charity and fundraising events. For private events, we can provide disco equipment including full digital audio and lighting, up to full mobile disco service with a DJ. Again this can be indoors or out, at any size of event from a home garden party up to a giant wedding celebration. We prefer to serve you and make sure everything is perfect, but if you just want equipment hire we have everything you need for the perfect event. Above all, we remember this is your event and we are here to provide you a service. Before we accept any offer of hire we will want to talk with you about your event, your aims and what you want. If it is music based we have a collection of thousands of tracks dating from pre-1950s to the latest promo chart and club releases, updated every week. What drives us is quality. It is not just how much noise you can create in a space, but the right type of noise at the right volume. You do not want feedback in the middle of a speech or performance, you don't want to be deafened at a disco but you should be able to feel the music. You want to hear the vocalist, not just a booming backing track. Years of experience running live events mean we understand different acoustic environments and purposes and will be able to specify the right PA and settings every time.
I love to entertain. The best discos are the ones where at the end of the night everyone has a smile on their face and looks worn-out but happy - because they've spent the night dancing and laughing and just enjoying the moment. Lots of things help that - the light show and a bit of fog or haze set the atmosphere, then the music sets the mood. You should feel the beat without being deafened all night long. The light show and the music should produce both light and shade, up and down tempo, serious dance moves and light-hearted moments.
I started Music First after about 15 years doing amateur work as a musician and a sound engineer. With a life-long passion for music and having been involved in many church worship bands over the years, it was easy to get involved with PA and production, always striving for that better sound... that more professional performance. And so I started collecting PA gear - speakers, fold-backs, amps, mixing desks, mics, radio gear, etc: more kit, better sound.
Almost by accident I started doing village fetes. I turned up to one charity fayre once where my partner was running the dog show, but the PA guy was a no-show. I shot home and grabbed some gear and for the last 6 or 7 years I've become their sound guy. From that, more bookings for fetes and recently a booking to evaluate and eventually install a new sound system for a local village Parish Church. The rest, as they say...
We are a professional, fully insured, VAT registered and Limited company. We offer absolute reliability: your event is as important to us as it is to you and we will work with you from the moment you choose us until the moment we finish packing up (or finish and deliver your recordings if including studio work). Aside from a 'can do' attitude to making things work, our attention to detail, testing, carrying spares, being early and rigged on time, all add up to making sure the show goes on. 5 stars isn’t enough! DJ was/is incredible, professional, talented and so easy! We hired a dj for our Mumsnet summer party, who couldn’t make the event, Dean stepped in 24 hours before - a real life hero!. Organising events can be really stressful, but we were so well looked after from start to finish. I can not recommend him enough - will be passing his details on! Thanks from me and the Mumsnet team!

To sum up Danni from the beginning, after conducting our wedding ceremony, multiple of our guests asked us whether she was a relative or old family friend, because she was so genuine, invested and her delivery of our story was so natural that people assumed she had known us for years. We found Danni through Bark, after putting out an ad for a celebrant, and out of all of those who got in touch, after looking at her page, we were immediately interested as she seemed to fit our style and vibe perfectly. We were correct! We had an initial video call with her to establish what we wanted and what she could deliver, and we found that we were immediately aligned on what we could make our ceremony into. We were also struck by just how personable and fun Danni was. She had a great energy, and put us at ease very quickly over any stresses we may have had about the ceremony. Danni then came over to meet us in person, and we went through the story of our relationship with her, with her delving deeper into different anecdotes, and asking us further questions about our relationship and who we are as people. All of this information was provided over a 90 min or so period, and was then shaped into the ceremony she delivered, retelling our story in a really personal way. She created a first draft for us, which we had full editing permissions over, so whilst what she wrote was fantastic from the off, we had the option to tweak any small bits that we wanted to. Danni’s thoughtful questions and genuine interest helped us shape a very meaningful ceremony for the two of us, and was something which many of our guests commented on; even the venue staff mentioned upon us collecting our decorations how meaningful and personal they found the ceremony to be. We included in the ceremony a traditional Nichiren Buddhist San San Kudo, which Danni seamlessly built in to proceedings. Whilst she already had some knowledge of this, Danni did further research and expertly adapted what she knew already to include the nuances of the brides religion. Danni also cared about the little details, taking us through where we should be standing, gave us tips for photographs, matched what she was wearing to our colour scheme, and co-ordinated expertly with our venue and photographer. To say how good Danni is, is to say we haven’t even mentioned her delivery of the ceremony this far in. She spoke really well, engaged our congregation, directed both of us, as well as our musician, best man, and flower girl. Danni really cares, which was evident throughout, shown on the morning of where she had the idea to include a game of rock paper scissors at the altar to see who would give their vows first, as both of us share a love of games. Little touches like this just added to what was already a really special and personal ceremony. She even bought us a board game as a wedding gift afterwards, which was entirely unexpected and very thoughtful. Danni is not simply just a wonderful celebrant, but first and foremost and lovely person who became an integral part of our wedding day, and we always looked forward to any calls or meetings we had with her. We cannot recommend her enough as the ceremony she produced was everything we wanted and more.
