What do you love most about your job?

It’s a beautiful thing when a career and a passion come together.......... I love helping people and I get a lot of pleasure when I see a satisfied client. I also get a lot of satisfaction because I help not just adults but also children manage their emotions, feel more confident, overcome fears and phobias to just name a few.

What inspired you to start your own business?

About 12 years ago, I went through a short period in my life when I was depressed and suffered from anxiety. It was not a nice place to be. This led me to go to the doctors and I was put on anti-depressants, which I did not like taking. So, I decided to come off them and decided to go to a hypnotherapist for my depression. This helped me immensely and in 2007 I became a mother and was blessed with twins. I have since never looked back. However, this meant that I had to give up work and so I was a stay at home mum for about three years.

After having worked in the corporate world for almost 20 years, as a practice manager for a busy law firm, and then going back to it part-time in 2010, I decided that I wanted a change of career and made the decision to channel my energies into what gave me most pleasure in life which is helping others.

I started my therapeutic journey working with children and parents because after I became a mother, I found that parenting came with its own challenges that no one prepares any new parent for. My experiences in raising my twins, and in using NLP/CBT techniques and Hypnotherapy, to help them, inspired me to help others.

Why should our clients choose you?

I am friendly, caring and am enthusiastic about my work. I always go that extra mile to help my clients achieve their personal goals. I continually update my education and skills so that I can help my clients in the best way possible.

This will vary according to the level of experience and training that the therapist holds.

This will depend on where you live, what level of training your therapist has and what they specialise in (whether they are a counsellor, psychotherapist or psychologist) and also how many years of working experience they have.

Your professional therapist will be able to advise you on the full range of therapies available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted therapist today.

You need to devote some time to finding the right therapist as the connection you have with your therapist is essential. You need someone who you can trust, someone you feel comfortable talking to about difficult subjects and intimate secrets, someone who will be a partner in your recovery. Therapy will not be effective unless you have this bond, so take some time in the beginning to find the right person.

It is worth talking to a few potential therapists and asking questions. Therapists also have special areas of focus, such as depression or eating disorders. For some issues, such as trauma or PTSD, seeing a specialist is absolutely essential.

Everyone’s treatment is different. How long your therapy lasts depends on many factors.

You may be offered a single session of counselling, a short course of sessions over a few weeks or months or a longer course that lasts for several months or years.

It can take a number of sessions before you start to see progress but you should gradually start to feel better with the help and support of your trusted Bark therapist.

Professional counsellor training takes three to five years and can be a diploma or degree level. Qualification requires a minimum number of client hours acquired through a work placement.

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark and Bark can show you reviews from past customers who have used their therapy.

Therapy has repeatedly and consistently helped patients with a whole host of issues. It can help with mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety or an eating disorder. Or it can help with an upsetting physical health condition such as infertility, a difficult life event such as a bereavement or a relationship breakdown. It can also be used to tackle difficult emotions such as low self-esteem, anger or sexual identity issues. Therapists also offer couples therapy. Therapists can also help with anxiety issues deriving from the coronavirus.

Absolutely! Many therapists offer sessions over the phone or through an online video chat platform, so you can have a session from the comfort of your own home - all you need is a strong internet connection and you're good to go.
