I am a Psychologist and Coach based in Ealing, London W5. I also hold Diplomas in Holistic Health, Hypnosis, Child Psychology, NLP, CBT, Body Language, Psychotherapy and Advanced Counselling. This forms a unique combination of training which can be pivotal for personal growth and change. I successfully treat anxiety, depression, self-esteem and stress related conditions. Lastly, I specialize in marriage and couples counselling, often helping couples make significant changes in a short-term time period. You may want to experience more motivation, better relationships, or understand and eliminate barriers that get in the way of your goals for a better quality of life. Having insight into the underlying “stuff” that people bring to the table can have tremendous impact when it comes to creating changes. Whatever your goals, I will help you identify destructive thoughts, beliefs, and emotions, and learn how to address the chronic patterns that cause suffering. I take an integrative approach that includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) too.

What do you love most about your job?

I think it is essential to understand what psychology (counselling, CBT etc) is really all about. For this reason I would like to raise three very important points which I have taken from the British Psychological Society’s website.
1) Skills learnt in previous occupations can often augment experience and understanding as a psychologist.
2) Psychologists have a diverse range of skills, from effective communication to planning and project management
3) Applied psychologists combine knowledge with enthusiasm, flexibility, and resilience to bring about positive changes for both individuals and organisations.
Knowledge and skills that have been with me since 1974 and that I have also expanded over the years.
Being a therapist is hard work and often involves long hours and a plethora of paperwork. But being a therapist is also incredibly rewarding. Thanks to my work experience and acquired skills, I enjoy helping people to improve the quality of their lives, decrease suffering, helping those facing new challenges, and willing to continually learn and grow.
Psychologists help by applying scientific methods to obtain a better understanding of behaviour. This includes observing, measuring, testing and carrying out statistical analysis with individuals and groups to gain relevant information to support different situations. This enables psychologists to find solutions to problems in various settings. [The British Psychological Society].
Without my unique skills, I would not be able to
a. Pass on to others my knowledge and wisdom
b. Be KIND and ENCOURAGING others
c. Being PREPARED to HELP OTHERS

What inspired you to start your own business?

My life purpose is to empower others to find their full potential, to find a greater sense of emotional flexibility, function better, finding success in life, a sense of wellbeing meaning and purpose, inner wisdom, achieving their true potential and live with intentionality and intensity.
I believe that people will achieve this, if only they try.

Why should our clients choose you?

If professionals relied on studies (books - universities), length of service (experience) and the ability to be empathic, reflective and a good listener – we would have thousands of Freuds or Jungs, out there. Finding exceptional and swift solutions to people’s problems is the answer to outstanding therapy

This will vary according to the level of experience and training that the therapist holds.

This will depend on where you live, what level of training your therapist has and what they specialise in (whether they are a counsellor, psychotherapist or psychologist) and also how many years of working experience they have.

Your professional therapist will be able to advise you on the full range of therapies available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted therapist today.

You need to devote some time to finding the right therapist as the connection you have with your therapist is essential. You need someone who you can trust, someone you feel comfortable talking to about difficult subjects and intimate secrets, someone who will be a partner in your recovery. Therapy will not be effective unless you have this bond, so take some time in the beginning to find the right person.

It is worth talking to a few potential therapists and asking questions. Therapists also have special areas of focus, such as depression or eating disorders. For some issues, such as trauma or PTSD, seeing a specialist is absolutely essential.

Everyone’s treatment is different. How long your therapy lasts depends on many factors.

You may be offered a single session of counselling, a short course of sessions over a few weeks or months or a longer course that lasts for several months or years.

It can take a number of sessions before you start to see progress but you should gradually start to feel better with the help and support of your trusted Bark therapist.

Professional counsellor training takes three to five years and can be a diploma or degree level. Qualification requires a minimum number of client hours acquired through a work placement.

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark and Bark can show you reviews from past customers who have used their therapy.

Therapy has repeatedly and consistently helped patients with a whole host of issues. It can help with mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety or an eating disorder. Or it can help with an upsetting physical health condition such as infertility, a difficult life event such as a bereavement or a relationship breakdown. It can also be used to tackle difficult emotions such as low self-esteem, anger or sexual identity issues. Therapists also offer couples therapy. Therapists can also help with anxiety issues deriving from the coronavirus.

Absolutely! Many therapists offer sessions over the phone or through an online video chat platform, so you can have a session from the comfort of your own home - all you need is a strong internet connection and you're good to go.
