Often, we need support with challenges in our lives and/or relationships. We feel so many differing emotions, such as anger, conflict, lack of intimacy, fear, grief, and financial unsettlement. Regardless of the size of issue(s), if it's significant to you, we can face it together. My name is Theresa Fearon and I am a Certified Spiritual Life and Relationship Coach with over 10 years experience. I provide individual and couples therapy to clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, diminished self-esteem, anger issues, relationship challenges, including conflict resolution and intimacy issues. Helping people make the best of relationships with their partners, children and, most importantly themselves, is my expertise. To clarify : Spiritual Life Coaching is not religious dogma and doctrines; I am not Woo-Woo or New Agey! Rather, it is a more holistic way of healing and clearing old patterns (baggage) so they do not follow you from relationship to relationship, job to job, situation to situation. Life Coaching helps you to overcome the issues on the surface, and as a Spiritual Life Coach, I help you to release and heal on the "inside" all the things that are holding you back and support you to make new habits which will positively impact on you and your relationships. My approach to therapy is individualised to you as a person (or couple), taking account of all your needs and it is results-focused. You will learn effective communication skills, healthy boundaries, stress/anger management, conflict resolution, problem-solving, and how to reconnect to love, including love of self. You will also learn the importance of self-care and why it is so important. Working with me will give you a safe space to explore your feelings, as well as the understanding that patterns of behaviour that have brought you to this place of unease and how to change them.

What do you love most about your job?

I love seeing the change in people, from when they first consulted me to when they feel strong enough to move forward on their own. It is always so inspiring to see the caterpillar to butterfly effect, as I call it. One of the most awesome things about my job is when the people who come to me finally see themselves the way they truly are, instead of this picture they have of themselves based on someone else's inability to see their worth.

What inspired you to start your own business?

Being a counsellor was something I always wanted to do. After A Levels but before uni, I worked as a support worker/mentor for disadvantaged children. I then worked briefly as a Christian Counsellor and a pre-marriage counsellor, until life took me down a different path, leading me to work as a Marital Private Investigator. I witnessed first hand the level of misery and pain on the tail-end of relationship conflict, with one particular case being life-changing for me. I then resolved to use all the education and trainings I had in the field of counselling and psychotherapy to effect change. Not every couple stays together - not every relationship will last but everyone deserves to be happy and feel good about themselves - whatever happens.

Why should our clients choose you?

I don't judge - I haven't lived your life. But I do promise to support you going forward so that you can have a life that's empowering to you. Because I am trained in various modalities, you have the choice to just work on moving forward, or I can help you heal some of the pain in your past, allowing you to let go of beliefs that do not empower you. We not only work on your situation, we work on rebuilding your confidence and self-esteem levels. And with me, you do not just get a 90 minute session and then it's all over until the next session - you can have unlimited email and text support between sessions. I will also share tips/strategies and worksheets with you to help you. You will have my support until you feel ready to let go and move on from your current situation.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Of course! Prior to the current situation, I have been working with overseas clients, as well as clients who are not local to my office. I work via Skype or Zoom - whichever is easiest for the client.

My Skype details are : empower_you@rocketmail.com

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

My practice is in a serviced office block, which is thoroughly cleaned and sanitised on a daily basis. All connecting doors are left open, so a client doesn't have to touch any door handles on the way to my personal office. Hand sanitisers are available on entry to the building, on every floor and in addition, I have hand sanitisers in my office. I personally clean and sanitise my office space, water bottles and soft furnishings.

Therapist FAQs

This will vary according to the level of experience and training that the therapist holds.

This will depend on where you live, what level of training your therapist has and what they specialise in (whether they are a counsellor, psychotherapist or psychologist) and also how many years of working experience they have.

Your professional therapist will be able to advise you on the full range of therapies available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted therapist today.

You need to devote some time to finding the right therapist as the connection you have with your therapist is essential. You need someone who you can trust, someone you feel comfortable talking to about difficult subjects and intimate secrets, someone who will be a partner in your recovery. Therapy will not be effective unless you have this bond, so take some time in the beginning to find the right person.

It is worth talking to a few potential therapists and asking questions. Therapists also have special areas of focus, such as depression or eating disorders. For some issues, such as trauma or PTSD, seeing a specialist is absolutely essential.

Everyone’s treatment is different. How long your therapy lasts depends on many factors.

You may be offered a single session of counselling, a short course of sessions over a few weeks or months or a longer course that lasts for several months or years.

It can take a number of sessions before you start to see progress but you should gradually start to feel better with the help and support of your trusted Bark therapist.

Professional counsellor training takes three to five years and can be a diploma or degree level. Qualification requires a minimum number of client hours acquired through a work placement.

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark and Bark can show you reviews from past customers who have used their therapy.

Therapy has repeatedly and consistently helped patients with a whole host of issues. It can help with mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety or an eating disorder. Or it can help with an upsetting physical health condition such as infertility, a difficult life event such as a bereavement or a relationship breakdown. It can also be used to tackle difficult emotions such as low self-esteem, anger or sexual identity issues. Therapists also offer couples therapy. Therapists can also help with anxiety issues deriving from the coronavirus.

Absolutely! Many therapists offer sessions over the phone or through an online video chat platform, so you can have a session from the comfort of your own home - all you need is a strong internet connection and you're good to go.
