‘19 Certificate of Excellence

Healing Time is a wellbeing centre located in central Birkenhead. As well as running the centre I offer Psychodynamic counselling for individuals, couples and families and Spiritual counselling. Working with depression, anxiety, relationship problems, grief and loss, self esteem and confidence building, domestic abuse, sexual abuse and more. Psychodynamic is very explorative in that it takes into account your past experience and relationships with yourself as well as others. Spiritual Counselling is generally for people having issues that are related to their spiritual selves or of a psychic phenomena. Meditation and connection with spirit may form part of the work within these sessions. As well as a trained counsellor I have trained other counsellors on the Certificate in Counselling Skills and Counselling Diploma and have trained as a counselling supervisor. I offer 30 minute free counselling consultations giving us the chance to see if we can work together to deal with your issues.

What do you love most about your job?

I love working with people and seeing the changes people make through their own hard work. I feel that every person is unique and that I am constantly learning from my clients whilst they are on their own journeys of self exploration. It is rewarding for me to see people turning their lives around and I feel privileged to meet so many interesting and resilient people with my work.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I had suffered from my own ill health both physical and mentally. Over the years I have made many changes through a lot of learning and self exploration. I am now free from physical pain and distress and want to support others in achieving their own life goals. I believe that we all have an innate ability to heal our lives and that sometime just a bit of support and guidance is required to begin that journey.

Why should our clients choose you?

I am committed to the working relationship. I work creatively and look for the deeper issues. I aim to challenge my clients and create a strong, honest relationship built on trust and empathy.

For my holistic clients, I am trained in bodywork but also energy work and I am intuitive with my ways of working with clients.

Therapist FAQs

This will vary according to the level of experience and training that the therapist holds.

This will depend on where you live, what level of training your therapist has and what they specialise in (whether they are a counsellor, psychotherapist or psychologist) and also how many years of working experience they have.

Your professional therapist will be able to advise you on the full range of therapies available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted therapist today.

You need to devote some time to finding the right therapist as the connection you have with your therapist is essential. You need someone who you can trust, someone you feel comfortable talking to about difficult subjects and intimate secrets, someone who will be a partner in your recovery. Therapy will not be effective unless you have this bond, so take some time in the beginning to find the right person.

It is worth talking to a few potential therapists and asking questions. Therapists also have special areas of focus, such as depression or eating disorders. For some issues, such as trauma or PTSD, seeing a specialist is absolutely essential.

Everyone’s treatment is different. How long your therapy lasts depends on many factors.

You may be offered a single session of counselling, a short course of sessions over a few weeks or months or a longer course that lasts for several months or years.

It can take a number of sessions before you start to see progress but you should gradually start to feel better with the help and support of your trusted Bark therapist.

Professional counsellor training takes three to five years and can be a diploma or degree level. Qualification requires a minimum number of client hours acquired through a work placement.

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark and Bark can show you reviews from past customers who have used their therapy.

Therapy has repeatedly and consistently helped patients with a whole host of issues. It can help with mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety or an eating disorder. Or it can help with an upsetting physical health condition such as infertility, a difficult life event such as a bereavement or a relationship breakdown. It can also be used to tackle difficult emotions such as low self-esteem, anger or sexual identity issues. Therapists also offer couples therapy. Therapists can also help with anxiety issues deriving from the coronavirus.

Absolutely! Many therapists offer sessions over the phone or through an online video chat platform, so you can have a session from the comfort of your own home - all you need is a strong internet connection and you're good to go.
