Jonathan Geitner

Hi, I’m Jonathan. Executive Coach, Business Coach, and Life Coach. Also 20+ years in business, at senior director level roles for large multinationals, however also an entrepreneur. Having run my own multi-million-pound business - starting from scratch. Learning how to do the marketing, sales, building websites, and as the business grew, hiring and managing people for many years, coupled with firing people. I started coaching as I wanted to help others where I can. I have just sold my last business and now am setting up a new one as I love the challenge, but do love coaching people, and helping/supporting them with the challenges they face. Extraordinary Results Begin With One Small Change. My role is to help you identify & clarify where you want to be, focusing on what is it that if you were to wake up one morning – that’s different in your life, and what success would look like to you. This can be with work; if you're running your own business, or it's within your personal life. I'd then help to evoke strategies & come up with actions, based on what fits best with your goals, personality, and long-term vision, to close that gap to get there. I’ll keep you accountable for your actions so we make sure progress is made. It is the progress that is key (to your success and happiness), not just creating the route plan. Everyone has something they want to do or achieve and will face obstacles, challenges, or knowledge that may prevent them from reaching that goal. Sometimes we just need to talk to someone to help get more clarity, dig a little deeper and create actionable goals to close that gap. Focus and Action. Just one degree of change can make a huge impact a year later. I can explain more on this on a call.

What do you love most about your job?

I really enjoy helping others figure out the route to get to where they want to be. I've been in the same situations myself and only wished I'd had someone to talk to and help with a little guidance. I've taken up coaching alongside my main business as I find it really rewarding above anything else.

And for anyone in business, I enjoy business coaching because I've been there and done it, worn all the hats associated to each area of the business, learned lots, and now I'm in a position I can genuinely help others avoid making the same mistakes I've already made.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I've been running my own businesses for many years now.

Coaching is something I really embarked on, given my experiences to date, and because I've often found myself naturally coaching others. So I felt it worthwhile to become qualified formerly and taking the leap to really support others.

I wished I had something like this when I was starting out in business.

Sometimes just trying to gain clarity, and a clear mind, so you can focus on exactly what to do next is quite a revelation. Or just having someone to talk things through. I often find whenever I talk to someone, even if they have no idea what I'm going on about, it suddenly becomes much clearer in my own head.

But having someone to also hold me to account, which I had a few years ago was a revelation. Really honing in on why I didn't get something done, and how I was constantly coming up with excuses, like "I was too busy", "I had too many emails", all came to light about what I really wanted to achieve and how you cannot let anything get in your way.

Why should our clients choose you?

I'm experienced, qualified, have an amazing support network so if I don't know the answer to something, I'll have someone I can talk to who'll be able to help me, help you!

And, without appearing arrogant, I'm good!

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

I work using Zoom mainly. I can also use Skype, and Google Meet, but I have a premium Zoom account so will send links and you have to just jump on!

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

I've not had to make any changes as I work remotely. When I did meet with people we simply reverted to Zoom. Although it would be lovely to meet again in cafes!

Your professional life coach will be able to advise you on the full range of coaching available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted life coach today.

You can have as many or as few life coaching sessions as you like. Many life coaches operate over the phone or via the internet so the sessions can easily fit around your schedule. Some people hire a life coach once every few months, some people have a session once a week.

Life coaching sessions will typically last up to an hour. Often after an initial assessment, sessions can be conducted over the phone, face to face, over email, via Skype/Zoom and occasionally through instant messaging.

During the session, your life coach will ask you a number of questions, such as what you want to achieve in life, what areas you're unhappy with and where you'd like to see yourself in the future. Although a life coach will work with you, it’s often up to you to challenge or reflect upon certain ideas you have to help you move forward with your life. You will never be forced to make any decisions you don't feel comfortable with and all sessions will be confidential.

Life coaching is focused on your present and your future. Coaching accepts your current reality and looks to improve your outcome moving forward. Life coaches are not health professionals and they do not diagnose you. By contrast, therapy focuses on your past and looks to delve into past actions and patterns. It is analytical but not action-oriented.

Most mainstream health insurance providers do not cover the costs of life coaching because it is not considered a mental health profession in the same way therapists and counsellors are.

Life coaches do not need to have any formal or academic qualifications but you may want to look for life coaches who possess an industry-specific qualification, such as the Life Coaching Diploma or Personal Performance Diploma (PPD).

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark, which shows you reviews from past customers who have used their life coaching services.

A life coach is a trained professional who aims to help and guide individuals to make, meet and exceed personal and professional goals. They support clients on a journey to rediscover their own strength and abilities. This can include excelling in the workplace, becoming happy and fulfilled at home, exploring your potential, managing health conditions and achieving life ambitions.

By harnessing techniques based on core psychological principles and intuition, life coaches empower clients and provide a toolkit of teachings to confidently face difficult challenges and overcome emotional barriers.

Life coaches can specialise in one of these particular areas of coaching: career coaching, executive business, group coaching, health and wellbeing, performance management, personal development, relationships, retirement, spiritual and youth coaching.

Rapport is one of the most important parts of life coaching. If you feel uncomfortable with your professional, you are unlikely to gain much from the session. It is advisable to get in contact before you book a session to meet your life coach so you can gauge how comfortable you are in their presence. It is worth talking to a few potential life coaches and ask questions.

Yes! As long as you have a strong internet connection, then your life coach can deliver sessions via an online video chat platform. Alternatively, it can be done over the phone.
