Psychotherapy, counselling and coaching. I'm not sure anybody has sat as an 8 year old and said they want to be a therapist. I didn't. If somebody has, please let me know... for me it's something you grow into as you realise how difficult life can be. It happened to me after I was broken. I was aspirational and wanted to be a lawyer or the like. I had something approaching a "normal" career but was bugged by this sense that something wasn't quite right.

I went for counselling because I didn’t want to repeat the same mistakes I had made before in my relationships. I wasn’t sure that it could work for me, but it has. I highly recommend Sally, she really helped put me at ease. And I am now happy to say I feel confident in a relationship and to finally give it my all.

Please note that I only reply to Bark requests if you privately message me with a little more detail first because the 'tick-boxes' used within Bark don’t give me enough information to assess whether we're a good match. The cost of responding to you via the Bark system is £6-£15 so I don't reply to everyone who messages me. Please message/email me with brief answers to the following.

Conversations with Neeta always leave me feeling open, clear and light. It’s always remarkable to me how even when I start a session feeling anxiety or frustration, she almost effortlessly leads me to a place of ease, simplicity and a sense of true direction. Neeta’s guidance has been applied across the board in my life: work, love, creativity, I am so grateful for my time with her because it is a touchpoint that brings me back to stillness and effortless purposefulness. The Private Practice of Person-Centred Therapist Pauline Ross, in Hither Green, SE13. What I offer: I work in an open ended way, meeting weekly for a 50 minute session and reviewing every 6 weeks. Fees: £25 for an initial session. £35 between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. £45 in the evening. (Concessions available and can be negotiated at the initial session).
I provide counselling through the pursuit and discovery of the most empowering resource of all: the self. Through my own experience of receiving Person-Centred counselling and through working as a counsellor, I have witnessed that healing and change is possible through this therapeutic relationship which is why I am passionate about the Person-Centred Approach.
I have always been preoccupied by what it is to be human. What makes our character? What motivates us? How do we define our world, ourselves and others? I first explored this artistically by training as a professional actor. Acting and therapy both require empathy, in order to step into someone’s shoes and see the world from their point of view. Having explored creatively what it is to be human, I now pursues this therapeutically as a counsellor and have found much of what she has learnt transferable and beneficial in understanding each therapeutic encounter
I am a professionally trained and fully qualified Person-Centred Therapist. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, a professional organisation that monitors and regulates codes of ethics for professional practice. It also serves clients through providing a complaints procedure pathway for your safety and protection. I undertake regular clinical supervision in order to maintain these high standards and I am covered by Professional Indemnity Insurance. I regularly partake in Continual Professional Development training in the form of workshops and both professionally and personally remain receptive to all things relating to mental health and well-being. I have worked as a counsellor for Lewisham Bereavement Counselling, LC & CTA Community Counselling Service and continue to work at The Deborah Ubee Trust, all for which I was DBS checked. Recently, I have been working more intensively with someone who has Dementia. I am currently developing a way of working with actors through therapeutic facilitation.
How much does Counselling cost?
Your expert Counsellor will be able to advise you on the full range of services available and will be able to advise on what is most suitable. Use Bark to get free quotes and schedule an appointment today.
What should I expect from my Counselling session?
At your appointment, you will be encouraged to talk about your feelings and emotions with a trained Counsellor who will listen and support you without judging or criticising.
The therapist can help you gain a better understanding of your feelings and thought processes and find your own solutions to problems. However, they will not usually give advice or tell you what to do. The Counsellor might sum up what they understand you have been saying so that they can help you to form a plan of action.
Counselling can take place in a number of ways. These include:
Face to face session
Group session
Phone session
Email session
Online through live chat services or video conferencing software
You may be offered a single session of Counselling, a short course of sessions over a few weeks or months or a longer course that lasts for several months or years.
It can take a number of sessions before you start to see progress but you should gradually start to feel better with the help and support of your Counsellor.
You can be confident that any of the Bark local Counsellors listed will give you a reliable and efficient service to help you feel better.
What should I look for when booking a Counselling session?
You could look for Counsellors that are accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) which means that they have met the PSA’s required professional standards to practise.
Before you choose a Counsellor, you could read testimonials and read details of the issues they can help with on their website.
You could also look at their profile page on Bark and check out reviews from past customers too.
What issues can a Counsellor help with?
Counselling can help with many issues. These include the following:
Mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety or eating disorders.
Physical health conditions such as infertility.
Difficult life events such as a bereavement, a relationship breakdown or work-related stress.

Sexual identity issues.
Divorce.
