In the first session you will have 60 minutes of my full attention and total respect of your inner processes. Counselling is good for you if you need support in hard times: losses, break-ups, dramatic changes, etc. Coaching can help when you want to go from A to B and need someone next to you who motivates you to stick to your plans. If you are unsure of a decision you need to make or don't know how to handle a situation that is becoming urgent, I offer the best of counselling and coaching together for maximum impact. When done together with counselling, coaching speeds up the process and encourages you to be more and more self-reliant and independent in your recovery. If there are no major underlying issues, most people will experience relief after just 4 sessions. AFFILIATIONS Senior Member of the Accredited Counsellors Coaches Psychotherapists and Hypnotherapists (ACCPH, UK) Accredited Member of the International Association of Coaches Therapists and Mentors (IACTM, SA) Member of the Transpersonal Coaching and Therapy Network (TCTN, SA) SPECIALTIES Bereavement Relationships Break-ups Traumas & losses Bullying Changes and transitions Self-esteem Self-empowerment Identity & personal values Personal finance Career and workplace issues Recovery from addictions and compulsions Recovery of creative power Recovery of vitality BIOGRAPHY I trained as a counsellor at the Central School of Counselling and Therapy (London, UK) in 1995 and have been practicing part-time ever since. My other qualifications include psychology (second degree), dramatherapy (postgraduate diploma) and coaching (alternative training route). In these three decades I have learned a lot and never stopped questioning myself and my method. Counselling and coaching are now my main occupation, although I have plenty of other interests to keep my lifestyle in balance, as too much listening to traumatic histories isn't healthy for anyone in the long run. In whatever I do, my main focus is the way we can overcome challenges and develop our full potential. I have published articles and books about personal growth and am now editing the second draft of my next self-help book about recovering from trauma and dealing with tricky family members (to be published in 2021).

What inspired you to start your own business?

Enthusiasm about new endeavours in a foreign land.

Why should our clients choose you?

Most clients appreciate my open-mindedness, creativity and universalism. In previous jobs, I was often appreciated for my reliability and flexibility.

What do you love most about your job?

I am always intrigued by what people tell me about their life plans, work challenges, and their way of dealing with them.
It is a privilege for a professional like me to witness the self-regenerating power of each individual, and and my only ambition is to be able to allow the process to unfold in ways I can't predict, I can only nurture and respect.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

At the moment I only provide online services.
If you request a face-to-face consultation, I am available to meet you at local parks where we can walk and/or sit on a bench a face mask on and keep a 1.5 mt safety distance. Payment can still be made online, so there is no exchange of objects anyway.

Counselling FAQs

Your expert Counsellor will be able to advise you on the full range of services available and will be able to advise on what is most suitable. Use Bark to get free quotes and schedule an appointment today.

At your appointment, you will be encouraged to talk about your feelings and emotions with a trained Counsellor who will listen and support you without judging or criticising.
The therapist can help you gain a better understanding of your feelings and thought processes and find your own solutions to problems. However, they will not usually give advice or tell you what to do. The Counsellor might sum up what they understand you have been saying so that they can help you to form a plan of action.

Counselling can take place in a number of ways. These include:

  • Face to face session

  • Group session

  • Phone session

  • Email session

  • Online through live chat services or video conferencing software

You may be offered a single session of Counselling, a short course of sessions over a few weeks or months or a longer course that lasts for several months or years.

It can take a number of sessions before you start to see progress but you should gradually start to feel better with the help and support of your Counsellor.

You can be confident that any of the Bark local Counsellors listed will give you a reliable and efficient service to help you feel better.

You could look for Counsellors that are accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) which means that they have met the PSA’s required professional standards to practise.

Before you choose a Counsellor, you could read testimonials and read details of the issues they can help with on their website.

You could also look at their profile page on Bark and check out reviews from past customers too.

Counselling can help with many issues. These include the following:

  • Mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety or eating disorders.

  • Physical health conditions such as infertility.

  • Difficult life events such as a bereavement, a relationship breakdown or work-related stress.

  • Dealing with difficult emotions such as low self-esteem or anger.

  • Sexual identity issues.

  • Divorce.

  • Redundancy and work issues.

  • Phobias and fears.

Absolutely! Many Counsellors provide their services remotely via an online video call or the telephone. Not only is it more convenient, but it's also the preferable option for many people who would feel more comfortable holding the session from the comfort of their own home.
