Hi! I am Rebecca Crowder, an end-to-end product design consultant based in Bath in the South West of England. My job is to help you transform your design or idea from a concept through to a fully developed manufactured product. I love a design challenge, and it’s what I do best! I have a broad range of design and management skills I have honed over my 15 plus years of practice and can join you on your product design journey at which ever stage you would like my input. I have vast experience and knowledge in design for manufacture and leasing with factories, and consider this one of my key areas of strength, as well as an essential part of the design process. What do you love most about your job?

From around the age of five I found my love of product design and all things creative. I spent a lot of my childhood in my parents garage making toys and models. I designed and made bikes for my dolls from sheets of acrylic, plaster cast models to paint, working kites, I even went through a stage of making sets of wings to try to fly.

I carried this creative flair right through my school years and on to university, when in 2005 I kick started my design career studying for a product design degree at De Montfort University in Leicester. Over the last 15 years I have honed my skills and experience across a number of different design industries from consumer packaging to prop making for TV and Film.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I set up Blue Dots Design Ltd as a Product Development and Design consultancy company in 2019 after realising there is a need for designers who have a wealth of experience in designing for manufacture as well as just conceptual design. I understand the whole design process from start to finish, and it is because of this understanding of manufacture and production that means I am able to design top performing products, with great success stories for my clients.

Why should our clients choose you?

My design approach is simple yet creative whilst keeping product viability at the forefront of the project. Combining creative expertise with a vast knowledge of manufacturing methods creates great products. I can optimise a new or existing design concept no matter how far along the design process you are, to ensure your project is optimised for materials and manufacturing methods best suited to your individual product
