What do you love most about your job?

We are delighted to support children in the local community, of all ages and abilities, with both maths and English tuition.

Through our structured programmes, we personalise each child’s learning path, which is targeted to fill any existing gaps in their understanding and promote development of existing knowledge. This helps with their schoolwork, builds confidence and develops independent learning skills.

Our maths and English programmes are flexible and tailored to learners' individual needs and abilities, so students move on only when they are confident with a topic. Regular testing ensures that the best possible progress is made. The 'little and often' approach, with plenty of repetition and practice, really does make a huge difference.

What inspired you to start your own business?

The answer to this is simple: love of learning! At the centre, your child will be supported as they work through their personalised learning programme. Between their weekly centre visit, they will also receive a programme of daily bite-size homework tasks to further embed and consolidate the learning from the centre.

Why should our clients choose you?

The Whickham First Class Learning Centre is run by Stephen BA (Hons), PGCE, MSc who is a teacher with a wealth of experience at both primary and secondary level. He is fully trained to deliver the First Class Learning study programmes. Every First Class Learning Centre Manager holds an enhanced DBS certificate (CRB).
