Magikats tuition has helped my son hugely with his English, as a home ed family we really love having magikats as part of our week. I contacted MagiKats as my daughter (8) has dyscacluia and was really struggling to keep up with the fast pace of the school curriculum. Olive was losing confidence and felt she was ‘rubbish at maths.’ MagiKats has helped Olive develop self belief and confidence and she actually looks forward to going and is engaged in the learning . It was one of the best decisions that we made to send our daughter to MagiKats Maldon. From the initial contact to the regular feedback, we have been thoroughly impressed with the professionalism and organisation. It is a warm and welcoming environment which looks at developing strengths as well as identifying areas that may need more support. Magikats (Kath) has been doing 1 on 1 session with my daughter (yr 11) for over a year now. The sessions have built her confidence and Kath helps her understand and ‘get it’. Rather than her just saying ‘I can’t do it’, she now works hard to figure it out and not be scared of whatever topic they are covering each week. I started using magikats at the beginning of the first lockdown as I was worried my son would fall behind if he didn't keep up with any kind of school work. step was accommodating finding times that suited us to enable to have a zoom lesson every week. not only has magikats helped my son to excel in both maths and English it also aided me in better ways to assist my son with school work outside of MagiKats. My daughter started accessing Magikats at Silksworth Tennis Centre around a year ago, mainly in preparation for her SATs. She previously lacked confidence and was anxious about the subject . Her confidence increased within a few weeks and much to my surprise she really enjoyed the homework! We’d always struggled with homework from school but she found MagiKats work easier as it seemed to be an extension of what she’d learnt. Tutors are friendly and approachable, fun and welcoming. What do you love most about your job?
As owner of MagiKats tuition my ambition is to help children improve their self confidence in learning. My team focus on working to boost your child's individual ability whilst helping them to improve their independence in learning, so they can take their skills and confidence and use them in the classroom.
What inspired you to start your own business?
After working for over 20 years in education, working predominantly with teenagers, I am frustrated at the number of young people who fail to achieve their potential at school. MagiKats tuition works alongside school to give individual children confidence and skills to help them to do better in the classroom. I believe all children can learn and achieve well - they just need help to find out the best way to do so!
