FREE-TRIAL, Virus-Free Tutoring ... For 26 years, I have been helping students ages 6 to 54 improve academically / professionally via the scaffold of Language Arts. Although perhaps a tad biased, I firmly believe one's communication skills – both oral and written – are inextricably linked to success in all facets of life. Why the bias? As an award-winning journalist AND credentialed teacher, my ability to write has set the table for everything else I do. And I pledge to every student that I will – in very short order – dramatically shape their future as well. In other words, I combine real-world compositional experience in journalism with school-learned pedagogical knowledge in education to provide students – young and old – the practical tools needed to obtain whatever goals they set. It’s that simple. Students tell me what they hope to accomplish, and I customize a diagnostic prescription centered on my patented JAR (Journal-Attack-Read) method. Better yet, JAR is all about having fun! No homework required!! Students need only commit to 5 minutes a day and then watch their communication skills soar to heights never before imagined. Lastly, I am not a tutor who believes in stretching out the “learning curve” interminably. My goal is to teach a student the JAR method, produce appreciable results ASAP and then let go of the reins. Unless parents specifically ask me to continue, there comes a point – sooner than later – when I recommend that sessions terminate. After all, there is no sense in throwing money at something that is essentially fixed. What do you love most about your job?

I see students reach heights they never dreamt possible. I currently have a 10-year-old student writing a novel he has pieced together from journal entries. And I have a 21-year-old student about to embark on a doctorate in Computer Science at Brown University.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I am a creative person and feel working on my own affords more opportunity to creatively break new ground.

Why should our clients choose you?

This is simple. I offer tons of compositional experience in and out of the classroom. I have taught English for 26 years and have been an award-winning journalist for four decades. Additionally, I guarantee dramatic results but charge much lower rates than most tutors. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, I make learning fun. Teaching is my passion. If possible, I would teach without charging anything at all and did exactly that for a year during the pandemic.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Yes. To hold down costs, I teach exclusively online. I utilize the Zoom platform. My students range in age from 7 to 54, and they all feel that the online experience actually enhances what they can accomplish.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

N.A.

I offer virus-free tutoring by meeting with students in cyberspace!!
