How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?

To help clients achieve their fitness goals I ensure all sessions are planned in advance specifically to the needs of the participant. All sessions will vary and never be the same, helping to engage the client and keep sessions fresh and new.

It is important to take feedback after each session to keep improving the quality of each session. With this I can include exercises and drills that the client found enjoyable.

What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?

There is no secret. Training consistently to a specifically tailored training programme will keep you progressing towards your target. I ensure to put the client first and adapt to each individual so they can continually make progress.

I will always make sure the client is enjoying their sessions as this will help motivation and in turn create consistency and sustainability.

What do you love most about your job?

I love seeing people enjoy their training. It is great to see people hitting targets and progressing through their training block, however the most important part about personal training for me is that the client enjoys each session. If working out can be enjoyable it will have added benefits other than just physical health improvements - it will create a positive mindset, improve mood and promote restful sleep.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I started my business after I spent 2 years working in a commercial gym chain. I felt that the main aim of this company was to make as much money as possible by getting in as many members they could. This led me to starting my own personal training business where the main aim is to treat each person individually to help their specific fitness goals.

I am proud to have grown my business to the point where I now own my own private gym - this helps each client progress as they have the whole gym to themselves. The success of my business will always be the achievement of clients and not from financial gain like the commercial gym showed me.

Why should our clients choose you?

I believe to have grown my CV and have experience in ways that not many other personal trainers have . I have gained a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport and Exercise Science from Edinburgh Napier University which has provided me with extensive knowledge in areas other than training drills and techniques. My degree has given me tools to analyse the way the body moves to make exercises more efficient. I have studied psychology and the differing ways that people learn which allows me to alter my coaching techniques to engage each person differently. I have also gained knowledge on nutrition and lifestyle to support clients out-with their personal training sessions.

I have also worked abroad in California, USA and have grown my experience from coaches in a different culture. This has helped my develop my training/coaching philosophy to enhance the service I provide.

I have also previously worked in two professional football clubs which has shown me the way in which professional athletes train, thus creating a higher level of professionalism in the way I carry out my work.
