By listening to you and asking open questions. The key to understanding what you want is communication - so I need to ask good questions done so in a way that makes you feel comfortable and relaxed to open up.

What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?

Listening to your body. Whether it needs water for energy and mental clarity, some movement for mood boosting, deep breathing for stress management or exercises to improve posture and reduce joint pain - what ever it is you're body needs, it'll tell you. All you've got to do is learn how to tune into the clues being sent and this is where my coaching aids in that process.

What do you love most about your job?

I love hearing clients speak about their wellness journey; the highs and the lows because it helps me feel connected to why they're doing the sessions. The better I get to know a clients motivations, the more and more I can tailor the programmes for the best results, which gives me tremendous satisfaction.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I'll never forget meeting a trainer 15 years ago called Julie, who upon discussing whether she'd be at the gym on Friday, she said "Friday? I haven't worked a Friday in 5 years!". That was music to my surfing-addicted ears and I've done a 4 day week ever since. And it lends its self really well to how I like to be when I teach - if I'm well rested and full of happiness, I'm the best teacher I can be. There's nothing worse than seeing a tired stressed out trainer trying to help someone live a healthier lifestyle - it just doesn't seem to fit.
