Hi I'm David and I've been running David Jenkin Fitness since August 2010. I am a level 4 personal trainer who specialises in weight loss, toning, flexibility, core and abdominal work, sports training and working with medical complaints. I offer nutritional support at many levels and am freelance, also based out of Red House Hotel in Torquay for when I need a gym base. Part of my agreement is that clients can use the heated pool and outdoor pool and jacuzzi after their sessions for free. I can work out of peoples own homes, in parks and beaches and moors - anywhere. I am fully insured to £5m public liability. I bring all my own equipment including boxercise equipment. How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?

I am qualified to judge what type of training I believe would benefit clients the most and which should be contraindicated. The exercises are fun, varied and inventive and my clients achieve their goals whilst enjoying their workouts

What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?

This is very hard and something that less than 15% of the population are able to claim if you ask me. What I usually do is encourage clients to make as many positive food choices as possible, exercise as much as possible and keep as active in daily life as possible. This is usually sufficient to seeing incredible results

What do you love most about your job?

The teamwork element between my clients and I is very important to me. Your goals are my goals and your journey is my journey. I enjoy every aspect of my job from thinking up some new and interesting exercises, delivering the sessions and seeing my clients get results

What inspired you to start your own business?

I fell into this really, I worked with life-limited children for 12 years prior, but when a child for whom I was especially attached passed away I found myself out of work and looking to do something different. I saw the personal trainer course and applied. It was the recession and so on qualifying their were still no jobs so starting my own business was the logical step

I would like to think I am easy to get along with, always get results, vary the exercises and session designs, have good banter and am extremely dedicated to my field. I would like to believe that none of my clients ever leave disappointed and that they have had fun and feel great
