‘19 Certificate of Excellence

I have been helping those struggling with anxiety, stress and the behaviours that result from this such as overeating, drinking, smoking, chronic pain and phobias since 2010. I successfully enable clients to move forward using hypnotherapy, mindfulness and reiki. I worked as a lecturer in further education for 15 years and became interested in complementary therapies several years ago when I was looking for a way to help a family member combat their anxiety. Hypnotherapy was a revelation, and I love sharing what I learnt with others both at home and in the workplace In 2010, I qualified as a Registered Hypnotherapist accredited by the National Council of Hypnotherapy. Since then I’ve helped hundreds of clients address all sorts of health issues and make long-term positive changes in their lives. I’m also am NHS-trained mindfulness coach and wellbeing consultant, and I have an MSc in Workplace Health and Wellbeing. I run courses and workshops in the corporate world as well as working with private clients at my treatment room outside Nottingham city centre. So that I can help as many people as possible I am running an offer for Bark clients: £70 per session. You can contact me: Phone: 075•• •••••• Email: s•••••@••••.co.uk

What do you love most about your job?

I really enjoy helping people reach their goals and feel better. No two days are the same and it's so rewarding seeing people progress.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I started researching natural ways to help someone in my family. We tried getting help from the NHS which didn't really work for us. I started researching into alternatives. I was drawn to hypnotherapy as it is so effective. I found it amazing and so I trained to be a hypnotherapist myself!

Why should our clients choose you?

I treat clients as individuals, there is "no one size fits all" solution. We are all different and respond in different ways. I've been successfully helping people for 10 years now. I love my job and have had a great deal of success over the last 10 years. I am so happy when people tell me that they feel as though they have turned a corner and have made the changes they want.

I am not woowoo. I have an MSc in workplace health and trained with the NHS as a mindfulness coach (MBCT) so I know this works and there is research to show it!

I offer a completely free, no obligation, (20 minute) initial consultation. You need to feel that I am the right person to help you and feel happy with the way I work.

Hypnotherapy FAQs

This will vary according to the level of experience and training that the hypnotherapist holds.

Your professional hypnotherapist will be able to advise you on the full range of therapies available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted hypnotherapist today.

Firstly, you'll have a conversation with your therapist to discuss what you hope to achieve and agree on what methods your therapist will use. Afterwards, the hypnotherapist may lead you into a deeply relaxed state using agreed methods to help you towards your goals. For example, suggesting that you don't want to carry out a certain habit gradually bring you out of the trance.

You are fully in control when under hypnosis and don't have to take on the therapist's suggestions if you don't want to. If necessary, you can bring yourself out of the hypnotic state. Most people expect to be put to sleep or to forget what happened afterwards but the opposite is true. You're fully aware the whole time of what is happening.

This is dependent on both your hypnotherapist and your circumstances. One-off services such as smoking cessation or gastric band hypnotherapy can last around two hours, while a general hypnotherapy session will usually take about an hour.

The duration of therapy will really be dependent on your circumstances and issues. Some people may require a longer-term approach with regular weekly sessions. Your hypnotherapist will let you know how many sessions they feel you might need when you start therapy and will be flexible when it comes to decreasing or extending the number of sessions according to your progress and needs.

There are currently no guidelines in place stipulating the training and qualifications a hypnotherapist must have in order to practice. Industry guidelines recommend that individuals should have completed at least an appropriate diploma or have completed a course that involved a minimum of 450 learning hours, of which 120 hours must have been face-to-face.

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark and Bark can show you reviews from past customers who have used their hypnotherapy services.

Hypnotherapy has repeatedly and consistently helped patients with a whole host of issues. It can help with anxiety, depression, anxiety, PTSD, obesity, addictions, fear of flying, public speaking, stopping smoking, insomnia, weight loss amongst others. When combined with methods such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), valuable healing work can begin as quickly as one or two sessions.

You might be surprised to hear that hypnotherapy can be delivered remotely over the phone, through an online video chat platform, or with pre-recorded sessions sent by email.
