Dawn Bates Author Coach

South Yorkshire

I offer both 1:1 and group coaching both online and on the phone. The areas I specialise in are as follows: Career coaching Author Coaching Business Start ups Life Coaching Positive and powerful Parenting I offer powerful one hour sessions, as well as weekly/monthly sessions. For career coaching I highly recommend a series of 8 sessions spread over 3 months. Author coaching takes place either via my 7 Week Author Course, or on a bi-weekly basis for 3-6 months, whereby you will have completed the first draft of your manuscript, and have all the elements in places ready to launch your book. Business start up coaching is a 12 month period of time with 24 calls per annum. Life coaching and Positive Powerful Parenting normally takes 12 - 15 sessions. If you would like to find out if we are a fit for each other, and you wish to learn more about how I have achieved what I have achieved in life, purchase The Trilogy Of Life Itself available on Amazon, iBooks, Kindle and Kobo. In each book you will gain ideas, inspiration as well as insights into the kind of person I am and how I can help you. In the meantime, be strong, love yourself and start acknowledging yourself for all you have achieved. With love, Dawn

What do you love most about your job?

The thing I love most about the work I do is seeing my clients get what is truly possible for them and their excitement displayed when they have exceeded everything they could ever have imagined. It really is magical to hear that shift in their voice and see their posture and energy levels change.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I have always known I would have my own business. When I realised I didn't fit into the patriarchal world 'old boys' network style of being in business, the mundane 9-5 and being stuck in one place all the time, I knew it was time to take my businesses completely online.

I always felt like I didn't belong in the world of suits and ties, conference rooms, drinking tea and coffee with people who looked over worked and over tired, a heart attack waiting to happen. I had to much energy and wanted to impact as many people positively and powerfully, showing them all I have learnt because like the old clique goes "If I knew then what I know now..."

Why should our clients choose you?

I'm a game changer and I coach people all over the world, whilst sailing across oceans and writing my books.. my life my way, and I coach others to do the life on their terms. I am a cheeky, passionate and playful person who chooses to live a FUCK YES! life... keeping it raw and real. The only vanilla thing about my life is the milkshakes I drink with a shot or two of coffee in it!

Your professional life coach will be able to advise you on the full range of coaching available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted life coach today.

You can have as many or as few life coaching sessions as you like. Many life coaches operate over the phone or via the internet so the sessions can easily fit around your schedule. Some people hire a life coach once every few months, some people have a session once a week.

Life coaching sessions will typically last up to an hour. Often after an initial assessment, sessions can be conducted over the phone, face to face, over email, via Skype/Zoom and occasionally through instant messaging.

During the session, your life coach will ask you a number of questions, such as what you want to achieve in life, what areas you're unhappy with and where you'd like to see yourself in the future. Although a life coach will work with you, it’s often up to you to challenge or reflect upon certain ideas you have to help you move forward with your life. You will never be forced to make any decisions you don't feel comfortable with and all sessions will be confidential.

Life coaching is focused on your present and your future. Coaching accepts your current reality and looks to improve your outcome moving forward. Life coaches are not health professionals and they do not diagnose you. By contrast, therapy focuses on your past and looks to delve into past actions and patterns. It is analytical but not action-oriented.

Most mainstream health insurance providers do not cover the costs of life coaching because it is not considered a mental health profession in the same way therapists and counsellors are.

Life coaches do not need to have any formal or academic qualifications but you may want to look for life coaches who possess an industry-specific qualification, such as the Life Coaching Diploma or Personal Performance Diploma (PPD).

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark, which shows you reviews from past customers who have used their life coaching services.

A life coach is a trained professional who aims to help and guide individuals to make, meet and exceed personal and professional goals. They support clients on a journey to rediscover their own strength and abilities. This can include excelling in the workplace, becoming happy and fulfilled at home, exploring your potential, managing health conditions and achieving life ambitions.

By harnessing techniques based on core psychological principles and intuition, life coaches empower clients and provide a toolkit of teachings to confidently face difficult challenges and overcome emotional barriers.

Life coaches can specialise in one of these particular areas of coaching: career coaching, executive business, group coaching, health and wellbeing, performance management, personal development, relationships, retirement, spiritual and youth coaching.

Rapport is one of the most important parts of life coaching. If you feel uncomfortable with your professional, you are unlikely to gain much from the session. It is advisable to get in contact before you book a session to meet your life coach so you can gauge how comfortable you are in their presence. It is worth talking to a few potential life coaches and ask questions.

Yes! As long as you have a strong internet connection, then your life coach can deliver sessions via an online video chat platform. Alternatively, it can be done over the phone.
