Oli-Co Hypnotherapy

My name is Rebeka Cohen and I am a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist. My practice is based in Whitwick and I am currently offering sessions via the secure platform of Zoom. I work with both children and adults using a combination of psychotherapy and hypnosis (trance). Trance is a relaxed state where the mind can focus on positive thoughts and suggestions. When you are in this state you have access to the subconscious mind which helps you to process your thoughts and generate solutions, helping you to move forwards with small positive changes without having to focus on any past problems or traumas.

What do you love most about your job?

I love the feeling of being able to help others. i love to be able to share useful/life changing information with my clients and I also love building a strong, professional, trustworthy relationship with my clients too.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I decided to begin my career as a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist after I personally benefited from the treatment.

I decided after having my first baby (with the help of Hypnotherapy calm birthing) that I would like a change in career. My first experience of hypnotherapy was a few years prior to that when I stopped smoking, after only a 2-hour session I never looked back and now live a smoke-free life. Go forward 5 years and I was struggling to sleep, after seeking out a local Solution Focused Hypnotherapist, only 3 sessions in and my sleep pattern was back on track. This inspired me to begin my journey of being able to help others.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Yes, I offer my services online and online therapy is just as effective and it comes with lots of benefits too:
💻It is common for clients can be quite anxious/apprehensive during the initial consultation / first sessions. Being in the comfort of their own home helps them to relax, they don’t have to stress about driving to the appointment/being late/getting lost etc.
💻A client needn’t be disappointed that my practice is too far away for them to come and see me because I am accessible to all (even International clients) so nobody needs to miss out on an opportunity to make themselves feel better
💻There is a cost saving in fuel
💻It is more environmentally friendly as we are not polluting the planet by driving to sessions
💻The client does not need any specialist equipment as the sessions are on zoom
💻Access is restricted so nobody else can enter the meeting room whilst our session is in progress.
💻It saves time - no travel

Hypnotherapy FAQs

This will vary according to the level of experience and training that the hypnotherapist holds.

Your professional hypnotherapist will be able to advise you on the full range of therapies available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted hypnotherapist today.

Firstly, you'll have a conversation with your therapist to discuss what you hope to achieve and agree on what methods your therapist will use. Afterwards, the hypnotherapist may lead you into a deeply relaxed state using agreed methods to help you towards your goals. For example, suggesting that you don't want to carry out a certain habit gradually bring you out of the trance.

You are fully in control when under hypnosis and don't have to take on the therapist's suggestions if you don't want to. If necessary, you can bring yourself out of the hypnotic state. Most people expect to be put to sleep or to forget what happened afterwards but the opposite is true. You're fully aware the whole time of what is happening.

This is dependent on both your hypnotherapist and your circumstances. One-off services such as smoking cessation or gastric band hypnotherapy can last around two hours, while a general hypnotherapy session will usually take about an hour.

The duration of therapy will really be dependent on your circumstances and issues. Some people may require a longer-term approach with regular weekly sessions. Your hypnotherapist will let you know how many sessions they feel you might need when you start therapy and will be flexible when it comes to decreasing or extending the number of sessions according to your progress and needs.

There are currently no guidelines in place stipulating the training and qualifications a hypnotherapist must have in order to practice. Industry guidelines recommend that individuals should have completed at least an appropriate diploma or have completed a course that involved a minimum of 450 learning hours, of which 120 hours must have been face-to-face.

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark and Bark can show you reviews from past customers who have used their hypnotherapy services.

Hypnotherapy has repeatedly and consistently helped patients with a whole host of issues. It can help with anxiety, depression, anxiety, PTSD, obesity, addictions, fear of flying, public speaking, stopping smoking, insomnia, weight loss amongst others. When combined with methods such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), valuable healing work can begin as quickly as one or two sessions.

You might be surprised to hear that hypnotherapy can be delivered remotely over the phone, through an online video chat platform, or with pre-recorded sessions sent by email.
