Mick Marshall Hypnosis

I specialise mainly in anxiety related problems. I teach self Hypnosis, and offer a range of take-away strategies for support between sessions. My sessions last for 90 minutes as I find an hour is not really long enough to be practical. I charge £80 for the session. You can get a better idea of the work I do on my website and I would encourage you to go there and see for yourself.

What do you love most about your job?

Even when clients come with the same issue, whether it be anxiety, phobia, or anything else, they are all different cases. No two are alike and the therapy will reflect that. Its not a one size fits all approach and discovering the key to making change for that particular individual is a real buzz. That keeps it very interesting for me, which means I keep learning too.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I want to practice therapy and help people in distress. Being self-employed is the usual route in to be able to do that.

Why should our clients choose you?

Therapy is meeting of two (or occasionally more) individuals, with a common goal. They work together to get there. Of course you should make sure that a therapist is suitably qualified, skilled and insured; but I would suggest that, when choosing a therapist, a client should choose someone they feel they can trust and can work with.
For this reason I always like to start a communication before any commitment is made. I'm quite down to earth, I'm honest and I have lots and lots of life experience [yeah... I'm old!].
A reasonable length phone conversation would usually give you a feel for whether or not we would be a good match.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

I prefer not to, so while the government will allow it, I'm working primarily face to face.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

I work out of a local clinic. There are strict procedures in place regarding social distancing and hand sanitisation.

Hypnotherapy FAQs

This will vary according to the level of experience and training that the hypnotherapist holds.

Your professional hypnotherapist will be able to advise you on the full range of therapies available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted hypnotherapist today.

Firstly, you'll have a conversation with your therapist to discuss what you hope to achieve and agree on what methods your therapist will use. Afterwards, the hypnotherapist may lead you into a deeply relaxed state using agreed methods to help you towards your goals. For example, suggesting that you don't want to carry out a certain habit gradually bring you out of the trance.

You are fully in control when under hypnosis and don't have to take on the therapist's suggestions if you don't want to. If necessary, you can bring yourself out of the hypnotic state. Most people expect to be put to sleep or to forget what happened afterwards but the opposite is true. You're fully aware the whole time of what is happening.

This is dependent on both your hypnotherapist and your circumstances. One-off services such as smoking cessation or gastric band hypnotherapy can last around two hours, while a general hypnotherapy session will usually take about an hour.

The duration of therapy will really be dependent on your circumstances and issues. Some people may require a longer-term approach with regular weekly sessions. Your hypnotherapist will let you know how many sessions they feel you might need when you start therapy and will be flexible when it comes to decreasing or extending the number of sessions according to your progress and needs.

There are currently no guidelines in place stipulating the training and qualifications a hypnotherapist must have in order to practice. Industry guidelines recommend that individuals should have completed at least an appropriate diploma or have completed a course that involved a minimum of 450 learning hours, of which 120 hours must have been face-to-face.

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark and Bark can show you reviews from past customers who have used their hypnotherapy services.

Hypnotherapy has repeatedly and consistently helped patients with a whole host of issues. It can help with anxiety, depression, anxiety, PTSD, obesity, addictions, fear of flying, public speaking, stopping smoking, insomnia, weight loss amongst others. When combined with methods such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), valuable healing work can begin as quickly as one or two sessions.

You might be surprised to hear that hypnotherapy can be delivered remotely over the phone, through an online video chat platform, or with pre-recorded sessions sent by email.
