The best review I could give to Jerry is to share the lesson that he taught me. Before I met Jerry, I had an inner belief that my happiness lied in something I didn’t have. I was always chasing something, wether that be a girl, a better body or material items. This led to constant unhappiness as when I got what I was chasing it didn’t give me the happiness I thought it would so I would fixate on the next thing, leading to an endless cycle. The main lesson Jerry has guided me to learn is that happiness can only be found with what you have and who you are now. There will always be a better car, a better watch, a bigger yacht or a bigger house. People’s internal dialogue is (me included) “when I get this…” “when I get her…” “when I have that…”. It’s becoming a thing with society that you can’t be happy until you have what society perceives as “the life”. But the problem with “the life” is that it doesn’t have an end goal if you think that way, you will always want more. At the end of the day it comes down to: when you die people don’t remember you for the house you had, the money you earned, how many beautiful women you had. They remember you for the person you were, how good of a friend you were, how you looked after your family, how you loved your wife and kids endlessly. I think that the thing that you should focus on in life is how you are as a person. Enjoy the journey not the destination, love and look after others, and than you will have “wealth”. And that might be different to the wealth you perceive it to be today but that is where happiness lies. If you are going to trust anyone, trust me, I’ve chased everything and mostly got it, but when I did get it, it gave me no satisfaction and I wanted the next thing. And than when time stops and your forced to reflect, you realise you have neglected your friends, family and built no relationships with a partner all in a chase of something that you thought was missing from your life. Thank you Jerry for this valuable lesson.
