Daisy Vision Counselling

Daisy Vision counselling is primarily person-centred, listening as you pour out your troubles, at your own pace. I will come along-side you, seeing things from your perspective, in a way that friends and relatives may not be able to. My therapy is based on a warm therapeutic relationship and is focused on helping you face your problems, find ways of dealing with them and helping you to bring about changes to enable you to come through on the other side. I realise that it takes courage to address your problems through counselling and will provide a 'safe place' for you to explore your thoughts and feelings without being judged. Some of the issues I can help you to address are anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem, grief and loss, or relationship difficulties. You may not have reached a crisis point but just recognise that spending some time on self-discovery may help you feel happier about life and more in control of your emotions. Sometimes it's just helpful to be listened to as you work through issues that are having a negative effect on your life. Each session is 50 minutes long and costs £40. I also offer Christian counselling, for those who wish to apply faith-based principles to their life to help overcome their problems, whilst respecting personal beliefs and values. Although my business is newly founded, I have received the following comments from my counselling, allowing those I’m helping to progress at their own pace, and helping them find a way of addressing their problems, and make changes that will help them cope with life: "I didn't feel inhibited at all because I was given the space to talk ... you weren't too pushy in terms of moving on" "So, just a simple question kind of turns it around for me and makes me look at it from a different angle, so it definitely has been helpful." "Thank you ... I was in need of your reassurance ... I've been mentally drained lately and am just now coping better." "Thank you for being so supportive and going above and beyond."

What do you love most about your job?

I love being able to help people by showing them they are valued, respected and accepted just as they are, even if they feel they've really messed up. It's very rewarding to see the relief on someone's face to be listened to, often for the first time, and particularly when they realise I understand where they're coming from, and do not judge them, even if they feel bound by shame.

What inspired you to start your own business?

Daisy Vision Counselling is an extension of my desire to help others who need a safe place to unload their problems and someone to come alongside them to help them face the difficulties in life.
For years, our home has been a place of refuge for neighbours and friends, going through hard times and needing a shoulder to cry on, someone to show they care and listen to their problems. Following training, in which I have have built on natural counselling skills, acquired new skills and gained knowledge and insight into counselling, I can now help people online or remotely, without the limitations of locality, and be available for them to pour out from a place of hurt, anxiety, loss or feeling of failure and helping them to face their problems, find solutions, and bring about changes to empower them to live experience a richer quality of life.

Counselling FAQs

Your expert Counsellor will be able to advise you on the full range of services available and will be able to advise on what is most suitable. Use Bark to get free quotes and schedule an appointment today.

At your appointment, you will be encouraged to talk about your feelings and emotions with a trained Counsellor who will listen and support you without judging or criticising.
The therapist can help you gain a better understanding of your feelings and thought processes and find your own solutions to problems. However, they will not usually give advice or tell you what to do. The Counsellor might sum up what they understand you have been saying so that they can help you to form a plan of action.

Counselling can take place in a number of ways. These include:

  • Face to face session

  • Group session

  • Phone session

  • Email session

  • Online through live chat services or video conferencing software

You may be offered a single session of Counselling, a short course of sessions over a few weeks or months or a longer course that lasts for several months or years.

It can take a number of sessions before you start to see progress but you should gradually start to feel better with the help and support of your Counsellor.

You can be confident that any of the Bark local Counsellors listed will give you a reliable and efficient service to help you feel better.

You could look for Counsellors that are accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) which means that they have met the PSA’s required professional standards to practise.

Before you choose a Counsellor, you could read testimonials and read details of the issues they can help with on their website.

You could also look at their profile page on Bark and check out reviews from past customers too.

Counselling can help with many issues. These include the following:

  • Mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety or eating disorders.

  • Physical health conditions such as infertility.

  • Difficult life events such as a bereavement, a relationship breakdown or work-related stress.

  • Dealing with difficult emotions such as low self-esteem or anger.

  • Sexual identity issues.

  • Divorce.

  • Redundancy and work issues.

  • Phobias and fears.

Absolutely! Many Counsellors provide their services remotely via an online video call or the telephone. Not only is it more convenient, but it's also the preferable option for many people who would feel more comfortable holding the session from the comfort of their own home.
