I have worked in coaching and business development for over 20 years and am a qualified Life and Performance Coach with NLP. I am a member of the National Council of Psychotherapists and fully insured. I offer life and performance coaching as well as coaching/therapy to help support emotional change. Life coaching helps you gain a clearer focus in life or work, identify the things that are working but then identify changes that can be made to help create a positive future. These could be practical changes or more often changes in emotion or mentality. Coaching will support you to create realistic but achieveable goals together with a structured plan to make these a reality. It will create a more positive frame of mind, enable you to support your self and help eradicate negative thoughts, emotions and behaviours. This can help you increase confidence, self-esteem and performance at work or in life.

What do you love most about your job?

I have spent all my working life supporting people to help make positive changes in their life, whether at work building successful teams, as a teacher improving grades and personality or as a coach changing lives. The feeling when someone I am coaching beams with a smile and you know you have done more than provide guidance, you have CHANGED someone for the better cannot be beaten.

What inspired you to start your own business?

Again my whole working life has been spent helping people improve themselves practically and mentally. I have spent 14 years working in sales coaching and most of the training focuses on mentality and creating a problem solving, solution orientated mind. The results in terms of not just sales, but the changes in personality that occur are astounding and motivate me every day to get even better at coaching myself. All my professional career has been focused on improvement, whether that be through business leadership, sales or personal development of individuals. It is that improvement that gives me a buzz and makes me want to work hard and get better at what I do every day. to help others improve themselves and their situations.

Why should our clients choose you?

I have a wide variety of experience and have helped people improve their lives emotionally, educationally and financially. As well as being a qualified life and performance coach I can bring a lot more than theory to the table and have helped hundreds of people improve their mentality, outlook and overall performance. I have worked with teenagers up to pensioners, helping them improve confidence and gain life skills. I also have a wide work background and so can help people from a career or work perspective, particularly sales.

This will vary according to the level of experience and training that the therapist holds.

This will depend on where you live, what level of training your therapist has and what they specialise in (whether they are a counsellor, psychotherapist or psychologist) and also how many years of working experience they have.

Your professional therapist will be able to advise you on the full range of therapies available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted therapist today.

You need to devote some time to finding the right therapist as the connection you have with your therapist is essential. You need someone who you can trust, someone you feel comfortable talking to about difficult subjects and intimate secrets, someone who will be a partner in your recovery. Therapy will not be effective unless you have this bond, so take some time in the beginning to find the right person.

It is worth talking to a few potential therapists and asking questions. Therapists also have special areas of focus, such as depression or eating disorders. For some issues, such as trauma or PTSD, seeing a specialist is absolutely essential.

Everyone’s treatment is different. How long your therapy lasts depends on many factors.

You may be offered a single session of counselling, a short course of sessions over a few weeks or months or a longer course that lasts for several months or years.

It can take a number of sessions before you start to see progress but you should gradually start to feel better with the help and support of your trusted Bark therapist.

Professional counsellor training takes three to five years and can be a diploma or degree level. Qualification requires a minimum number of client hours acquired through a work placement.

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark and Bark can show you reviews from past customers who have used their therapy.

Therapy has repeatedly and consistently helped patients with a whole host of issues. It can help with mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety or an eating disorder. Or it can help with an upsetting physical health condition such as infertility, a difficult life event such as a bereavement or a relationship breakdown. It can also be used to tackle difficult emotions such as low self-esteem, anger or sexual identity issues. Therapists also offer couples therapy. Therapists can also help with anxiety issues deriving from the coronavirus.

Absolutely! Many therapists offer sessions over the phone or through an online video chat platform, so you can have a session from the comfort of your own home - all you need is a strong internet connection and you're good to go.
