No one really wants to have to seek or admit needing counselling but, when you do need it, to call on someone like Duncan is a godsend. Counselling in its self carries some stigma, "Are they going to judge me?", "Will they tell other people?" and "Can I be truly open?" are some of the questions that you may ask. However, Duncan extinguishes that straight away! He listens, not passively.... he genuinely listens and puts you at ease. The main thing I've realised is his ability to help you find the answers to your troubles, not by saying anything outright but, helping you unpick those answers from your own mind, often Anxiety and Depression makes that a struggle but, with Duncans help it is possible! Massive thanks Duncan :) More...

I have had the pleasure of dealing with Louise Ellison on a number of occasions & have always felt relaxed & comfortable in all the conversations that have taken place. I find Louise to be warm & approachable & would have no hesitation in recommending her counselling & advice. More...

Q&As

Being able to support and help people when they need it the most is a very satisfying experience. Helping people through their journey when they are struggling with life’s challenges is a real privilege. Being able to work with a client toward that 'light bulb' moment when they can see a clear pathway ahead of them makes counselling very rewarding.

We both came from very different areas of business and realized we were the go-to person when colleagues or customers wanted a chat. We both started to think about career changes and each undertook four years of counsellor training. We purposefully chose to train at different colleges as we knew it would provide alternative perspectives and this has formed a real foundation for business. We knew we wanted to work closely with people and feel we have a good insight (through our own challenges in life) of modern day stresses.

Right from the start we can offer potential clients a key choice in what will be the cornerstone of their journey - feeling comfortable with a therapist; we offer both male and female counsellors. This is an important choice which should allow a client to be able to discuss their life concerns without embarrassment. Following the initial call a client will have a telephone conversation with their therapist, allowing them to summarize their situation. The client will then be invited to a 'getting to know you' assessment which usually lasts an hour and half. We tend to see clients weekly and can offer appointments during office hours and at evening / weekends should this be more convenient. No time limits are set as every therapeutic relationship is different, but we do set regular reviews to assess progress and goals.
