On Your Side Therapy

I offer 1:1 counselling both face to face and online. Everyone gets something different from therapy and it's a very personal experience. At its core therapy helps people to understand themselves, where they've come from and how that has shaped them. This understanding can help people to tackle a variety of mental health issues, for example, depression and anxiety, as well as helping with relationship issues. Therapy provides a supportive environment to foster personal growth and help people both prepare for and cope with the challenges that life throws at all of us. For a free 20 minute appointment see www.onyoursidetherapy.com for more information.

What do you love most about your job?

For me, counselling is all about change and understanding our lives better. I find it very rewarding to be alongside people on this journey and to watch them change, grow and thrive.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I spent 20 years working in the corporate environment and I found that it wasn't clear to me what it was but I was achieving, what difference was I actually making to somebody's life. I then decided to find a more meaningful career and along this journey, I decided to work for myself, to give myself the freedom to work with every individual according to what they want.

Why should our clients choose you?

This is a personal choice and I feel that it's down to what you feel. Do you feel that you could work with me?

To help you decide here's a little bit about me. I am a middle-aged man living in West Sussex. I'm a father to two children who are both growing up fast and a son to parents that are adjusting to retirement life. I'm also a husband. I trained at the Minster Centre, one of the leading Psychotherapy schools in the UK, as an Integrative Counsellor and this means that I use several different approaches in my practice that I adjust depending upon how each client responds. As part of my studies, I covered Existential, Psychodynamic, Person-Centred, Body Psychotherapy together with a Relational approach with diversity at its core. In laymen's terms, it means that I've covered a broad range of different theoretical approaches combined with an understanding of what make's us all different.

I also offer a free 20-minute appointment so that you can talk to me to help you with this decision.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

I provide counselling both face to face from my home in West Sussex and online to reflect the changing ways that we work now.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

I've been practising online for the last two years whilst we've all been going through the pandemic. Going forwards I will be following government advice regarding face to face work, however, it would be a conversation with you regarding what you are comfortable with and how you work like to work.
