What do you love most about your job?

What I like most about my job is when I see a result, the result my client is looking for. There is no greater feeling than being the catalyst for change in someone's life and seeing them smile. When sometimes they have come to see me as a last resort and end up questioning why they hadn't embarked on Hypnosis before. Every day is different, no 2 people or problems are the same so life is never boring.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I have always been a peoples' person, when my children were little I qualified as a Reflexologist but life became very hectic and with arthritis in both my hands I had to give it up. As my children grew up I realised I needed to do something with my life, I love the complimentary health side of therapy and after having Hypnosis myself for public speaking I realised the power of it. So off I went on a weekend course to see if it was something I would be able to do myself and I absolutely fell in love with it.......5 years down the line I love it even more and the fact I am my own boss, I can work what hours suit me and I meet the most amazing people its just great!

Why should our clients choose you?

I have been told by my clients that I have the ability to put people at ease right away, am friendly and get results.

Therapist FAQs

This will vary according to the level of experience and training that the therapist holds.

This will depend on where you live, what level of training your therapist has and what they specialise in (whether they are a counsellor, psychotherapist or psychologist) and also how many years of working experience they have.

Your professional therapist will be able to advise you on the full range of therapies available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted therapist today.

You need to devote some time to finding the right therapist as the connection you have with your therapist is essential. You need someone who you can trust, someone you feel comfortable talking to about difficult subjects and intimate secrets, someone who will be a partner in your recovery. Therapy will not be effective unless you have this bond, so take some time in the beginning to find the right person.

It is worth talking to a few potential therapists and asking questions. Therapists also have special areas of focus, such as depression or eating disorders. For some issues, such as trauma or PTSD, seeing a specialist is absolutely essential.

Everyone’s treatment is different. How long your therapy lasts depends on many factors.

You may be offered a single session of counselling, a short course of sessions over a few weeks or months or a longer course that lasts for several months or years.

It can take a number of sessions before you start to see progress but you should gradually start to feel better with the help and support of your trusted Bark therapist.

Professional counsellor training takes three to five years and can be a diploma or degree level. Qualification requires a minimum number of client hours acquired through a work placement.

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark and Bark can show you reviews from past customers who have used their therapy.

Therapy has repeatedly and consistently helped patients with a whole host of issues. It can help with mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety or an eating disorder. Or it can help with an upsetting physical health condition such as infertility, a difficult life event such as a bereavement or a relationship breakdown. It can also be used to tackle difficult emotions such as low self-esteem, anger or sexual identity issues. Therapists also offer couples therapy. Therapists can also help with anxiety issues deriving from the coronavirus.

Absolutely! Many therapists offer sessions over the phone or through an online video chat platform, so you can have a session from the comfort of your own home - all you need is a strong internet connection and you're good to go.
