What do you love most about your job?

As a company we are very focused on providing a finished product that the client is completely happy with.

Personally I would say what I love most about my job is seeing the client beaming with happiness when they realise their dream home has become a reality. This is very rewarding for a builder who is passionate about his work, as am I.

I also enjoy the fact that everyday on site is very different from the one before, there are always new obstacles to overcome and as the build or home improvement progresses it brings different faces on site. It keeps life interesting!

What inspired you to start your own business?

I have worked within the family's heavy civils construction business since the age of 18 but always had a passion for residential home building. There finally came a time in 2014 when I was able to branch off from the main company to pursue this passion by building larger residential and commercial projects. Last year I decided to go out on my own and formed Bishop Ltd to hopefully make my mark within the construction field in my own right. I feel totally ready for this new and exciting challenge in my career.

Why should our clients choose you?

If a client would like a building company who works on a project as if it is their own then I would definitely suggest that they speak to us. We may not be the cheapest company out their but we are extremely passionate about what we do and this reflects in our work. We also value our tradesmen, without their hard work and dedication we would not be able to complete the work to the high standards we always aim to provide. We also always aim to complete every project on time and on budget.

Our company values include loyalty, trust and keeping an open communication system with clients. These core values help to build the foundation of our company and creates a cornerstone of how we would like to deal with people around us. We strongly believe that our clients are the main mouth piece for our company so we work very hard to ensure they have a good experience with us.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

We are following all government issued guidelines for a safer environment for both our teams abs clients

How long your extension takes will depend on its size and complexity. A single story rear extension will usually take around three months to complete, whilst a double story extension may take up to six months. When you request a quote for your extension, your property extension specialist will be able to give you an estimate of how long your extension will take to complete.

The value that an extension will add to your property will depend on how much extra space you are gaining and how much of the garden will remain. The majority of the time, an extension will add value to your property. Try looking on sites such as Rightmove and Zoopla at the prices of similar properties in your area to get an idea of how much value an extension could add to your property.

Most people pay for a home extension using their savings. If you need a small amount of extra money, you may be able to use a credit card or take out a loan to fund your home improvements. Another popular option is to remortgage your home, reducing your share in the property. This will free up funds which can be used to extend your property. It’s best to get independent financial advice to find the right way forward for funding your extension.
