We were very pleased with the recommendation. The work carried out by Rebecca was efficient and came with excellent results. We would highly recommend her. We started as strangers and ended up friends with a wonderful design for our house. More...

Rebecca has designed a number of projects for us in the past, although this one is the largest to date. She has been efficient and professional throughout, liaising between the council and the planning authorities and helping us jump through all the various hoops at every stage.

The build is an annex on the side of an existing property. It has been beautifully designed with a bedroom, sitting room, bathroom and kitchen. It will be modern and chic with plenty of light and space and will increase the desirability and value of the existing property by some not inconsiderable amount.

We are extremely happy with the work so far and fully expect to be delighted with the final result as we have always been more than pleased with the previous projects she has worked on for us. I and my husband cannot recommend Colour and Design more highly.

I have worked with Rebecca on many projects over the years and look forward to the next! Rebecca has always been a pleasure to work with and I have no hesitation in recommending her services.

Q&As

You have to assess the existing roof structure and see if the building regs can be adhered to. Head height is crucial and the ability to create an aperture internally that will allow for stairs to be installed that comply with regs.

First a site visit is required and measurements taken. Then you would need to give a brief about what you want to achieve. Plans would be drawn up and once approved would be submitted to the planners for approval.

I use Applied Colour Psychology to discover the colour and design personality of the client. This involves talking to the client about themselves and their home and during the process I will be able to uncover their individual tastes. This process ultimately saves time and money as I can present them with schemes that I know will suit their style and personality. If I feel that a client is not excited by the initial discussions then it is probably not a 'good fit' and may be a time to with draw from the process. A good fit will save time and money for the client. A good trusting relationship is vital for the design process to flourish. Once this is established the creative process will really open up .

I will design for the clients style rather than any particular one of my own. I can offer modern, sleek and glamorous or traditional and rustic. It all depends on the clients personality.

I love the process of discovery. I love working with a client to help them discover their own style and colour palette and then watching as they begin to understand how this can help to create a home that is truly harmonious and balanced. The creative process is truly enlightening.

I wanted to offer a design consultancy that approaches the design process from a psychological perspective. Our home should be a place of refuge and harmony and in order to evoke the feelings and behaviours we want we must understand our own colour and design personality . I love working with clients to help them uncover their own distinct colour and design style and when this is applied to a scheme we can create a harmonious and unique home that will enhance their lives and wellbeing. Creative inspiration sometimes comes in the middle of the night and an office at home allows for that to flourish although I will wait until the morning to contact my clients!

I am totally committed to the design process and building a good relationship with my clients. I am a firm believer in 'a good fit'. I will spend the early part of the process seeing if the client and I can work together. If a client is not excited by the initial discussions then this is a good indication that the relationship may not build into an easy one. At this point it may suit both parties to find another designer! Once a good fit has been established I offer total commitment to the project. I will communicate at every stage what is required and keep the client up to date with all the processes. I listen to the clients needs and will follow their brief so that the clients wishes are fulfilled. I pride myself on a calm and easy going nature which helps to keep the project on target with minimum stress. I am professional and dedicated to creating a home that the client will love and feel truly content to live in.

I offer a full design service for extensions refurbishments and renovations and loft conversions. From initial brief through to full planning submissions. The project can be taken from concept through to completed build. We work with a team of professional high quality contractors with whom we have built a trusted relationship over many years. We can manage the project for an agreed fee or hand over once planning has been granted.
